Billy Miller is a mainstay on daytime television

Miller has been in three major roles on three different soap operas in his career. The actor first debuted in the role of Richie Novak on All My Children in 2007. He played the character for over a year before Novak was killed off. In 2008, the same year his character was killed off All My Children, Miller joined The Young and the Restless as a recast for legacy character, Billy Abbott. He was a fan-favorite on the show (which is sometimes not the case for recasts a lot of the time) and played Billy up until 2014.

The actor landed on his third show, hitting General Hospital the same year he left The Young and the Restless. He debuted on General Hospital as a recast for another legacy character, Jason Morgan. But when Steve Burton, who originally played Morgan, returned to the show in 2017, the version of the character that Miller played was retconned to be a different character. His character was revealed to be the twin brother of Morgan, named Drew Cain. In 2019, Miller announced that he would be leaving General Hospital.

Miller does not have official social media accounts and can only communicate to fans through his manager’s Twitter when he has something he wants to say. Talking about his exit from the soap, Miller released a message saying:

With a slight air of sadness, it is time to ponder what “Goodbye” means. However, instead of dwelling on what is gone and sure to be missed, there is another way. Maybe our goodbye is really a remembrance of love felt, an appreciation for lives shared, and the lifelong reminisces that come from embraces and received. Maybe our goodbye is an earnest hope for the brightest path forward for us all. Now, instead of sadness, I am filled with gratitude for all your support, encouragement, and every emotion shared. I cherish the journey we have taken together. Thank you for allowing me into your home and lives. With every ounce of myself, I thank you for being you. I would be remiss in this crazy, unpredictable world we all love so much if I did not hold out the possibility that maybe our goodbye is really…UNTIL NEXT TIME

All My Love,

Billy Miller.

A report says that there is some buzz that he could be headed back to Port Charles

The website Celebrity Dirty Laundry is reporting that there is some buzz that the character of Drew Cain could be written back into the show soon. The outlet ponders if Miller could return or the role could be recast.

“It makes sense considering it could be a key part of Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) redemption arc, which is also likely to happen,” reads the report. General Hospital could recast the part of Drew, but some fans feel like it wouldn’t be the same. Should the show do whatever they have to do to get Billy Miller back?”

The rumor about Miller’s potential return is part of the larger idea about reinvigorating Sam McCall’s love life. The show just broke up Sam and Jason. It also seems to be toying with the idea of having Sam and Dante Falconeri together.

“With the right price and some good story promises, maybe TPTB could make it happen! the report continues. “If Drew walked back into Sam’s life, it seems like a done deal that she’d reunite with him. “Dream” fans would love to see this couple have a real chance. It’d be great to see Monaco and Miller’s onscreen chemistry revisited, too. Whatever the case, there’s a place for Drew on canvas if GH wants to slide Miller back into it. As other news comes in, we’ll bring you updates.”

General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.
