This week’s General Hospital speculation focuses on Esme, a character played by Avery Pohl. But this week’s speculation suggests that this will all change very soon — and it’s a long time coming.

Esme is trying to seduce Nikolas away from Ava
While the latest General Hospital speculation suggests a redemption arc for Esme, there will still be a way to go before that happens. According to the latest recap from SoapHub, Esme is still in full villain mode. And part of that villainous behavior involves stealing Nikolas — yes, Spencer’s own father! — away from Ava! (Or trying to, anyway.)
“Well, now we finally know. Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) isn’t enthused about the teen scene because they’re not what she’s there for,” reports the outlet. “She’s there to seduce Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) away from Ava Jerome (Maura West)…for her “Daddy,” Ryan Chamberlin (Jon Lindstrom). But if Ryan is the one pulling her strings, then is Esme actually a villain… or yet another of his victims?”

So, as Soaps.com recently reported, Esme has a very — let’s just say — strange relationship with her biological father. It left the outlet feeling “icky” because of the way she interacted with him. Her behavior is certainly not typical of the way a biological daughter interacts with her biological father.
“More sickening than the thought of Felicia being the psychopath’s mother is Esme and Ryan’s borderline incestuous relationship,” reports the outlet. “Esme is clearly infatuated with her father, rubbing his hands and legs, calling him “daddy” and reminding him not even Ava will ever love him the way she does. Ew! Just when you thought it wasn’t possible to make Ryan and Esme any creepier than they already are!”
Now, though, the latest General Hospital speculation suggests that this might actually be a turning point in the story. And Esme could be on the way to a redemption arc.

Let’s assume, for a moment, that Esme realizes she’s a victim of Ryan’s machinations. (The man can do damage from wherever he may be in the world, to be fair.) This just might inspire her to turn her life around.
In the alternative, if she doesn’t successfully seduce Nikolas — which seems likely — Esme might also be inspired to turn her life around, especially if Nikolas chooses to offer his guidance to the wayward young adult.
Now, this is all just speculation about General Hospital. Fans will have to tune in to upcoming episodes of the long-running ABC daytime drama to see what happens next.
