‘General Hospital’ Speculation: Nina’s Secrets Come Back to Haunt Her
On General Hospital, Nina can be counted on to keep a secret. For the longest time, she was one of the only ones who knew the truth about Maxie’s baby. And she also kept the secret of “Mike’s” true identity…until some old friends from Port Charles started sniffing around Nixon Falls. Now, it looks like the house of cards that Nina has built is going to come crashing down around her. And all her secrets will come back to haunt her in the worst possible way.
[Spoiler alert: Potential spoilers for upcoming episodes of General Hospital are up ahead.]
On ‘General Hospital,’ Nina has tried to come clean to Sonny/Mike
On the Sept. 10 episode of General Hospital, Nina tried to come clean to Sonny/Mike about his past. She figured it’d be the best course of action since she couldn’t convince Jax to just go away and leave them alone. (Well, duh.) Jax finally gets through to Nina by reminding her of her children, who deserve better than a mother who’s willing to build a relationship based on a lie.
“Jax tries to make Nina see that what she has with “Mike” won’t last, and he’s bound to remember and turn on her,” reports Soaps @ SheKnows. “He asks her to think about his kids, including Donna and Avery, who deserve a chance to grow up knowing their father. He also points out Sonny also has the right to know Wiley just as she does. Nina cries that Jax has won. She begs him to let her tell “Mike” the truth in private.”
Well, lo and behold, Peter walks in just as Nina is about to spill the beans. Expect more drama on General Hospital with Peter doing literally everything but minding his own business. Regardless, though, Nina doesn’t let the truth come out — and this decision may haunt her, if the latest speculation is to be believed.
Maurice Benard has confirmed that Sonny will return
As was previously reported, Maurice Benard has confirmed that Sonny will be returning to General Hospital. The veteran soap actor took to social media to make the announcement, and teased that Sonny’s return will not have him “sitting down.”
Benard’s announcement all but confirms the previous speculation about Sonny’s state of mind. No one thought that “Mike” would remain “Mike” forever. At some point, Sonny had to come back. (What would the Five Families be without him, really?) And yes, folks, Benard confirmed that Sonny is going to be even more villainous than ever before. We love to see it!
But now that Sonny’s return is confirmed, this means nothing but trouble for everyone involved. Sonny won’t be “Mike in a suit” — Sonny will be the Sonny Corinthos that strikes fear and terror throughout Port Charles. And that trouble includes poor Nina.
When it all comes out, the consequences will be devastating
The latest General Hospital speculation from Soaps @ SheKnows suggests that the return of Sonny will have devastating consequences for many different characters on the show. For starters, there will be the issue of Nina. How well will things go when Sonny realizes that Nina lied to him all along? Not very well — at all. Nobody lies to a crime family capo and gets away scot-free, even if the liar in question does have family in the “family.”
On the other hand, with Carly married off to Jason (assuming that goes off without a hitch, which is a pretty tall order), Sonny may just settle for second-best. His “heart” is gone, after all. And then there’s the other half of the “Jarly” equation: Jason! General Hospital fans know that Carly and Jason have been best friends forever, and finally, their friendship has blossomed into true love. But, the way Sonny will see it, Jason snatched his woman away from him — never mind that the woman in question thought he was dead. How well is that going to go over? Not well at all, folks, not well at all.
Now, this is all just speculation. We’ll just have to tune in to upcoming episodes of General Hospital to see where Sonny, Jason, Carly, and Nina go from here. But things are definitely getting spicy in Port Charles.
