‘General Hospital’: This Star Has Played Multiple Roles on Two Soaps
It isn’t out of the ordinary for soap opera actors to appear on multiple shows in their career. In actuality, it is really quite common for the actors to hop to other shows, even if they have on a show for a long time.
However, it is rare for actors to play multiple roles on multiple shows. But one current General Hospital has been in four roles on two shows.
Tamara Braun as Carly Corinthos on ‘General Hospital’
Braun is most known for her role of Carly Corinthos on General Hospital. She was the second actress to play Corinthos after Sarah Brown and the fourth overall. The legacy character, as the daughter of Bobbie Spencer, is one of the most iconic roles in the show’s history.
Tamara Braun as Ava Vitali on ‘Days of our Lives’
In her first soap role after General Hospital, Braun debuted as the character of Ava Vitali on Days of our Lives. She originally played the character, a mob heiress tied to Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) in 2008 before returning from 2015-2016 for the show’s 50th anniversary. Though she was only in the role for a short amount of time, she won a Daytime Emmy.
The second ‘Days of our Lives’ stint as Taylor Walker
In between her time as Ava Vitali and going back to General Hospital once again, she returned to Days of our Lives as a legacy character, Taylor Walker. The character is the sister of and Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) Brandon Walker (Matt Cedeño). Braun was the third actress in the role. Interestingly enough, another General Hospital alumna, Natalia Livingston, was in the role briefly before her. Braun remained in the role only in 2011.
Braun’s role as Kim Nero on ‘General Hospital’
After playing two characters of Days of our Lives and leaving the show for the third time, Braun returned to General Hospital in 2017. However, she did not reprise the role of Carly Corinthos, now portrayed by Laura Wright. She began playing a new character, Kim Nero, an OB/GYN and father of Oscar Nero (Rio Mangini and Garren Stitt).
The character also had a history with Drew Cain (Steve Burton). She was last seen in November 2019 and was seemingly written out. Braun confirmed that she was blindsided by her exit.
