‘General Hospital’ Weekly Recap: Bye, Jax and Jason!
If General Hospital was hoping that fans would be sad about Jax and Jason’s departure, they thought wrong. Sure, at least one of them was integral to the most recent storylines. Remember the “Jarly” wedding? Seems so long ago, doesn’t it? Yet, now that Sonny’s back in Port Charles — and no longer cosplaying as “Mike” — Jason seems a bit, well, redundant. And Jax hasn’t been important to too many storylines in a while. Perhaps their departure is all for the best, then? Either way, General Hospital seems to think so, given how they’re making them go out with a bang — literally.
‘General Hospital’ fans are glad to see the two actors go
General Hospital fans have taken to social media to express their happiness that Ingo Rademacher (who plays Jax) and Steve Burton (Jason) are leaving the show. Fans seem to be tired of the steady stream of behind-the-scenes drama coming from these two actors. Their clashes with the higher-ups at the show seem to be overshadowing all the other actors and their storylines, according to fans.
“So when is Jason going to be presumed dead or whatever?” wrote one fan, who finished her comment with a smiling emoji. “This should have been the end of Ingo at #GH. Instead, he was allowed to continue to use his platform to spread hate, misogyny, and misinformation. Some of his male GH costars are no better,” wrote another.
And still another fan noted that Burton reportedly made a “white power” symbol in a General Hospital scene. So, these fans were all-too-happy to see these two problematic characters go.
Ingo Rademacher’s last show airs on Nov. 22
According to Soaps @ SheKnows, Ingo Rademacher’s episode of General Hospital will air on Monday, Nov. 22. At that time, he’ll run into Carly. For now, though, only those two know what they’ll be talking about. No other details about their interactions were made public, so it looks like the show is keeping his last episode under wraps as much as possible.
It’s also worth noting that General Hospital will air a repeat on Nov. 25, in celebration of Thanksgiving. And on Nov. 26, the show will be pre-empted for college football games.
Steve Burton’s last show is reportedly coming up, too
Celeb Dirty Laundry speculates that Steve Burton’s last show will air right around the same time as Ingo Rademacher’s too. According to the outlet, General Hospital will feature Jason’s demise — most likely at the hands of Drew.
“Jason should face a grim fate following a dangerous confrontation with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison),” reports the outlet. “Jason may manage to deactivate Drew, but Peter August (Wes Ramsey) will remain determined to kill Jason no matter what. After Jason’s terrible situation escalates, other characters on the island will await updates.”
This may be one of the only times that General Hospital fans will side with perpetual baddie Peter August. It’s truly a shame for many fans that the behind-the-scenes drama has spilled over into their enjoyment of the show. But, hopefully, things will settle down after sweeps week, and General Hospital can resume getting back to the drama after Thanksgiving.
