Get ready for a spooky – and funny – Halloween. Special holiday episodes are a tradition for CBS’s Ghosts, and 2024 is no exception. This year’s spooktacular episode will air on Oct. 31, and we have all the details you need to know about when and how to watch and what to expect.

‘Ghosts’ 2024 Halloween episode airs Oct. 31

The fourth Ghosts Halloween special, “Halloween 4: The Witch,” airs Thursday, Oct. 31 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.

In the episode, the ghosts are looking for some excitement after Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) cancel Halloween because of past holiday disasters. When uptight ghost Patience (Mary Holland) becomes convinced that Sam can summon the dead, she convinces the other ghosts to try her as a witch.

Sam isn’t concerned about her upcoming trial, but Jay is worried.

“Patience is not to be trifled with,” he says in a teaser (via YouTube). “And I’ll just leave you with this. Historically, witch trials, they don’t end well for the witches.”

Can’t watch the episode when it airs live? New episodes of Ghosts are also available to stream on Paramount+, where subscribers can also also watch the three previous Ghosts Halloween episodes

Ghosts isn’t the only CBS show with a special Halloween episode this year. On Elsbeth’s new episode “Devil’s Night,” Elsbeth (Carrie Preston) and the team must retrace the steps of a former child star turned party girl (Brittany O’Grady) when she wakes up on Halloween with no recollection of her whereabouts and afraid she may have committed a murder. It airs at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

Also at 10 p.m., ABC will air an encore presentation of cruise ship drama Doctor Odyssey’s “Halloween Week” episode. The luxury ship is hosting a high-stakes costume contest, but the festivities take a dark turn when some passengers are struck with a zombie-like illness. Meanwhile, Avery (Phillipa Soo) and Max (Joshua Jackson) embark on a rescue mission.

AMC’s “Fear Fest” lineup includes an all-day marathon of movies from the Halloween franchise. BBC America is focused on Stephen King adaptations, including Misery, Christine, Graveyard Shift, and Thinner.  Freeform’s “31 Nights of Halloween” wraps up with Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, Hocus Pocus, Hocus Pocus 2, and Little Shop of Horrors (1986).

M. Night Shyamalan movies, including The Village, Signs, and The Sixth Sense are on FX, while The Simpsons fans can take in a marathon of the show’s classic “Treehouse of Horror” episodes on FXX. The Addams Family and Addams Family Values are on Paramount Network.
