Gigi Hadid’s Biggest Failure Is Surprising
Gigi Hadid is one of the modeling world’s “it girls.” She has worked with many of the top fashion brands in the world and has appeared on multiple magazine covers, including Vogue. Hadid has become something of a pop-culture celebrity, joining the ranks of models such as Kendall Jenner, Kaia Gerber, and her sister, Bella Hadid.
Although she has enjoyed incredible success in the years that she has worked as a model, Gigi Hadid is the first to admit that not everything is perfect. Recently, she spoke out about what she considers to be her biggest failure.
How did Gigi Hadid get into modeling?
Hadid was born in 1995, to parents Yolanda Hadid and Mohammed Hadid. Her ancestry is Dutch and Palestinian but she spent the majority of her childhood in Los Angeles. Hadid has a large family, with two younger siblings, Bella and Anwar, and two older half-sisters.
Hadid started working as a model before she could even walk, working as a model for Baby Guess. She took an extended break from modeling in order to focus on school and graduated high school in 2013.
Following her high school graduation, Hadid moved to New York to pursue her modeling career. Almost immediately, she signed with a major modeling agency and started working with top brands like Tom Ford.
Hadid walked in New York Fashion Week in 2014, making a splash and getting more advertising and campaign deals right out of the gate. Her striking looks and unique attitude helped catapult her to the top and in 2015, her career really took off.
Over the next year, Hadid worked with brands such as Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Fendi, Versace, Elie Saab, Balmain, and Tommy Hilfiger.

In addition to Hadid’s work as a model, she has achieved acclaim as a businesswoman. In 2018, she began a collaboration with Reebok, designing sneakers that were a big hit with her legions of fans. Hadid has appeared on the cover of Vogue multiple times over the years and has walked in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show for several years.
Hadid’s personal life has been the subject of much scrutiny. From 2013 to 2015, Hadid dated Disney Channel star, Cody Simpson. The two broke up in 2015.
Then, she started dating One Direction singer Zayn Malik. Over the next few years, Hadid and Malik would break up and get back together multiple times, most recently reuniting in January of this year.
What does Gigi Hadid consider her biggest failure?
Although it seems like Hadid has a perfect life, she does experience difficult times, just like anyone else. In a recent interview, Hadid revealed: “I think my biggest failures in my life and my career have been when I haven’t had – or I wasn’t old enough to have – the confidence to stand up for myself when I knew what was happening on set wasn’t right.”
Hadid didn’t specify any single incident, but her message was certainly clear.
The young model also revealed that she intends to grow from any negative experiences that she might have had in the past. She stated: “I guess through those disappointments in myself, or through disappointing others with my actions, I’ve really been able to learn. I try and grow from everything.”
Later on in her revealing, intimate interview, Hadid stated that she plans on leaving negativity behind her in the new year.
There’s no doubt that her experience in the modeling industry has been hard work, but she seems equipped with the tools and the mindset to continue her meteoric rise to the top of the game.
