‘Gilmore Girl’ Fans Really Don’t Like These 10 Episodes
In its seven-season run and one reboot, Gilmore Girls managed to get many viewers to fall in love with the show. The adorable relationship of Rory and her mother Lorelai, along with the many romantic relationships that have divided the fans into several groups and the quaint town of Stars Hollow has found a space in the hearts of the show’s fans. Even then there are moments when it becomes impossible to watch what’s happening on the show.
What was so special about ‘Gilmore Girls’?
Centered around the mother-daughter duo of Rory and Lorelai, the comedy-drama was not super popular during its run but gained more and more popularity after. With its broadcast spreading across multiple channels and later its arrival on streaming services like Netflix, the show rose to gain a cult-classic status.
This, however, does not take away from the brilliance of Amy Sherman-Palladino, the creator of the show, and her vision of creating a small American town and in it people from different walks of life coming together and giving its audience heartwarming stories of friendship and family.
But, as we mentioned before, art is never perfect. Although brilliantly written, some episodes failed to meet the standards that the other episodes had set.

According to Reddit, Screen Rant reports, these are the 10 worst episodes of Gilmore Girls:
The episode, ‘Vineyard Valentine’ in season six when Lorelai and Luke join Rory and Logan at Logan’s beach house in Martha’s Vineyard is not a fan favorite, to say the least. Whether it is Luke’s utter disdain for Logan and Rory’s hospitality, on the other hand, Rory and Logan’s weird attempt to seem like the perfect married couple — the juxtaposition of these two couples definitely backfired.
The episode where Jess goes to California to stay with his father and ends up spending time with his father’s girlfriend Sasha and her daughter is another much-disliked episode. While it is endearing to watch a few scenes where Jess and Sasha’s daughter bond, the overall episode centers around the estranged father-son relationship which is too sad to watch.
When Rory and Jess get into a car accident in season two, Lorelai is quick to judge and blame it all on Luke. Not only did the fans think Lorelai had a hasty reaction, but they also saw an ugly side to Lorelai, which could be partly attributed to her concerns as a mother but that wasn’t a sufficient excuse.
Sherry, Rory’s father Christopher’s girlfriend and a widely hated character in the show, was hated even more when she insisted that Lorelai come to her baby shower in season three. This was another uncomfortable episode where the audiences did not want to see Lorelai’s jealous side.
A particularly bothersome episode to watch was Lorelai’s graduation. What should have been a sweet episode dedicated to her determination and boss-woman attitude, the fans hated that Rory stole her thunder to visit Jess in New York City. The fact that she was not able to make it to Lorelai’s graduation upset many of the show’s loyal fans.
Lane had been Rory’s best friend since kindergarten and even though she was a huge presence in Rory’s life, many fans were disappointed with Lane’s character arc in the show. The episode where the two hang out before Sookie’s kids’ christening is just a painful portrayal of their fading relationship and Lane’s downward arc.
If we’re talking about the episodes that fans hate, the season four finale, when Dean and Rory sleep together sits pretty high up on the list. Though the episode had some great moments in the form of Luke and Lorelai’s first kiss, Rory’s decision to sleep with Dean, who is married, was not well received.
Many fans also did not like the episode where Jackson proposed to Sookie. A lot of it probably stemmed from wanting the proposal to be more magical for a person as great as Sookie. Fans did not appreciate the small argument-turned to a fight-turned to a proposal route that the writers took.
One of the most heartbreaking episodes of the show was Luke and Lorelai’s breakup. Though they were engaged, Luke had been putting off their wedding busy with other things, like estranged daughters returning. Lorelai was busy bottling up her feelings until she couldn’t hold it in anymore. The worst part was that they didn’t even have a good enough reason to break up.
Another awkward episode was Lorelai’s secluded date with Jason which made her more bothered than impressed. Jason got reservations for them to have dinner in a private room in the restaurant, but the move backfired and they had to leave the restaurant. Even with a long list of awkward dates, this one was a difficult watch.
Still, there is much to love about ‘Gilmore Girls’
Although there were moments that all the fans wish never happened, or were better handled or better written in the show, Gilmore Girls gave its fans many moments to celebrate.
Out of 150 episodes, these were only 10 that the fans hated, leaving the field wide open to pick out favorite moments from the remaining 140.
