Gilmore Girls ran for seven seasons from 2000 until 2007. During its lengthy run, more than 150 episodes were produced. With more than 100 hours of footage, it should come as no surprise that some Gilmore Girls moments are more beloved than others. Three scenes, in particular, strike fans of Lorelai and Rory Gilmore as particularly iconic. Do you agree?

Emily Gilmore and Lorelai Gilmore taking part in a fashion show together remains an Iconic ‘Gilmore Girls’ moment

Emily Gilmore and Lorelai Gilmore didn’t have many fun moments together. Sure, their bickering and backhanded compliments helped make the show what it was, but you can count the truly lighthearted moments between the pair on one hand. That’s what makes the moment they strut down a makeshift runway together, in matching outfits, so iconic.

In the season 2 episode “Like Mother, Like Daughter,” Lorelai is talked into helping out at Chilton. She offers up The Independence Inn as a venue for a fundraising fashion show and is even persuaded into getting on stage. She doesn’t realize that she and Emily have been paired as the mother-daughter team, though. There is nothing like watching Emily strut down the runway to “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” with a reluctant and incredibly awkward Lorelai at her side.

Lorelai and Luke’s first kiss is a fan-favorite moment

Luke Danes and Lorelai’s romance was a long time coming. Fans shipped the couple from the very first season. That’s not surprising, though. Showrunner, Amy Sherman-Palladino, foreshadowed their future as early as episode 2. Unsurprisingly, their first kiss, in the season finale of season 4, is a truly iconic moment.

In the episode, “Raincoats and Recipes,” Luke attends a soft opening of the Dragonfly Inn, hoping to woo Lorelai. When her ex, Jason Stiles, appears and informs Luke that they are dating, he gets upset. Confronting Lorelai, Luke launches into a rant, telling her that she should have known what he was trying to do. They kiss on the porch of the Dragonfly. What makes the scene a truly iconic Gilmore Girls moment is Kirk Gleason running past the kissing couple completely naked.

Rory’s first Life and Death Brigade event is a pivotal ‘Gilmore Girls’ scene

Logan Huntzberger and Rory Gilmore’s relationship has been debated by fans for years. Regardless of the divisiveness of their romance, the couple did appear in one of the most iconic moments of Gilmore Girls’ seven-season run. In “You Jump, I Jump, Jack,” Rory attends a Life and Death Brigade event as a reporter. Logan ensures she gets swept up in the action, though.

Whether you love the couple together or hate them, the moment Logan talks Rory into jumping off a platform with nothing more than an umbrella is truly iconic. The moment also proves that Logan is the love interest that will force Rory the most out of her comfort zone. That’s not a bad thing.
