Over the course of seven seasons, fans learned a lot about the beloved characters in Gilmore Girls. While the show is often praised for its quick wit and attention to detail, there are still plenty of Gilmore Girls plot holes that bother fans. With each new re-watch, more inconsistencies appear. For example, do you know where the Dragonfly Inn was located? It actually had more than one address, according to the show’s writers.

Where did Lorelai Gilmore say the Dragonfly Inn was located?

When fans first met Lorelai Gilmore, she worked at the Independence Inn. After a fire, she moved on and opened her own business in Stars Hollow. The Dragonfly Inn was an important location starting in season 4; its address even factored into a storyline or two.

Lorelai Gilmore initially stated that the Dragonfly Inn was located on 3rd Street, which she found a bit boring. The street name would eventually be changed. At least, we think the town changed it. While trying to revive the town’s tourism industry, Taylor Doose decided to rename several streets, changing Dragonfly’s Street from 3rd Street to Sores and Boils Alley, much to the chagrin of Lorelai and her business partners.

Lorelai argued with Taylor about getting the street name changed again. Still, fans of the series never learn if she accomplished her goal. The changed street names are never mentioned again, but the Dragonfly Inn’s address does come up at least one more time during the show’s run. In fact, it is a serious Gilmore Girls plot hole.

While Lorelai insisted the inn’s address remains 3rd Street instead of Sores and Boils Alley, she may not have needed to insist that hard. According to the inn’s stationery, it was located on neither 3rd Street nor Sores and Boils Alley.

In the season 6 episode, “Just Like Gwen and Gavin,” Lorelai pens a letter to Rory on stationery from The Dragonfly Inn. While the letter’s contents aren’t seen during the episode, the actual letter is on display at the Warner Bros. lot where the series was filmed. According to the framed prop shared by a fan on Reddit, The Dragonfly Inn was located at 214 Oak Tree Lane in Stars Hollow.

Oak Tree Lane is, unsurprisingly, never mentioned on the show. While it’s possible Lorelai had the address changed sometime between “Welcome to the Dollhouse” and “Just Like Gwen and Gavin,” it seems unlikely. It is more likely that the address inconsistency is a proper Gilmore Girls plot hole.

Which streets were most mentioned in ‘Gilmore Girls’?

The landscape of Stars Hollow is confusing for even the most ardent Gilmore Girls fan. Some streets are mentioned once, while others factor heavily into the series. While Oak Tree Lane was never mentioned during the show’s seven-season run, several streets in Stars Hollow were regularly discussed.

Lorelai and Rory’s home was located on Maple Tree Lane. Babette and Morey Dell lived next door. Lane Kim and Sookie St. James lived on Elm Street, close to the town center.

Rory’s first boyfriend spent his days on Peach Street. According to Fandom, Peach Street connected Elm and Maple Tree Lane. Cherry Street is mentioned several times during the show’s run, as well. Cherry Street housed several of the town’s small businesses. Sores and Boils Alley, 3rd Street, and Oak Tree Lane remain a mystery.
