‘Ginny & Georgia’ Star Explains Why She’s ‘Pissed’ Over the Finale
Fans are loving Ginny & Georgia, the new Netflix series following a single mom named Georgia as she and her kids Ginny and Austin relocate to a new city for a fresh start — but not everyone is satisfied with the finale. That includes actor Sara Waisglass, who plays Maxine Baker on the show. Waisglass made the revelation in an interview published on April 8, explaining she wishes there was another outcome.

How ‘Ginny & Georgia’ ends
The season 1 finale ended with Ginny (Antonia Gentry) falling out with Max and her other friends over her relationship with Max’s brother Marcus (Felix Mallard). On top of that, she found out her mom had been hiding several secrets from her, including that she’d killed her ex-husband. Overwhelmed, Ginny took her brother and ran away from home. Her destination was not revealed, but Gentry has hinted that she’s headed to see Zion.
She told TVLine: “I don’t know if you notice, but when she’s packing her bag, she grabs the book that Zion gives her, and if you were paying attention, when Zion arrives and is giving her the book, you know that he included an address. He has that secret coded message in it, and she finds out that it’s his address to his Boston apartment. So I’m thinking it’s pretty reasonable to assume that Ginny might be headed toward Zion, but I don’t want to tell people what to think, even though the clues are all there.”
Sara Waisglass says she’s ‘pissed’ over the ‘Ginny & Georgia’ finale
Waisglass confessed to Bustle that she’s not happy about the way Max and Ginny’s relationship has unfolded. “I would love to see Max and Ginny work through their issues. I would hate for a boy to be the end of such a fantastic female friendship. Already, as it is, I’m so pissed about it!” she told the website.
She continued saying, “I wish I’d had a friend like [Max], someone who’d taken me under their wing. But in my high school, it was more ‘every man for himself.’”
Waisglass, 22, noted that she started working when she was 6 and has pretty much been booked and busy ever since. “I grew up too quickly because I’d been acting my whole life,” she said.
“You’re forced to be an adult very young, and I was pissed because I didn’t get to run around and be loud. I was always working,” Waisglass continued. “So Max came along, and [she] was my chance to be free and courageous. I took it as the greatest opportunity of my life.”
If the show gets renewed for another season, maybe Waisglass’ character will be able to mend her relationship with Ginny. We’ll see what happens.
