Gisele Bündchen Inspired Symone’s ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Entrance Look

"Don't let the sweet taste fool ya baby!" Symone (the Ebony Enchantress) has sashayed into the RuPaul's Drag Race workroom and is repping the House of Avalon. An early favorite among fans, Symoné proved that she was way more than just an aesthetics queen during the Friday night premiere and solidified that she was a true threat in the competition. For her entrance (and lip-sync look) she wore specific dress that was clearly inspired by model Gisele Bündchen in the 1990s.

Who is Symone?

Symone is the very first Arkansas queen to enter the workroom on RuPaul’s Drag Race. A Southern queen in sunny Los Angeles, she is a member of the House of Avalon, also known for being the house of season 12 runner-up, Gigi Goode. This makes Goode and Symone drag sisters.

She talked about being in the House of Avalon in a pre-season interview with local outlet, Arkansas Online. “People usually come out here alone, following their dream,” she explained. “It’s hard. [In Arkansas] we’re known for our Southern hospitality. Here, it’s a different beast and that’s just the makeup of L.A. I was so blessed and fortunate to have people here that I consider family. I don’t know how long I would have made it here if I didn’t have them.”

Symone also revealed in another interview that Goode gave her some advice before she got on the show. “Gigi [Goode] told me two pieces of advice,” she told ET Online. “She said you have to go in there [thinking] you are the best singer, you are the best actress, you are the best dancer, you can do gymnastics if they tell you, b*tch. You are the best at everything. Go in there with some sense of delusion. And then have fun. This is the first — and hopefully last — time you’re gonna be there, so have fun and just let go and let be, honey.

Symone is definitely not just Gigi Goode’s sister

And though she may have a famous drag sister in Goode, Symone is her own, fully-fledged drag queen, and if viewers have seen her in the season premiere yet, they will know to not compare the two queens.

“I was that kid watching the show in a small town,” she said to Arkansas Online. “It gave me hope and something to aspire to. Growing up in Conway, there were other Black, gay kids but I didn’t see it that much on television. That’s part of why I wanted to be on the show and why I wanted to do drag in the first place and be in the public eye. There has to be a bigger reason than just the attention.”

Symone enters ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ with a bang

Symone came through the workroom with a huge twist that will take place over the first few episodes. Queens came into the workroom in pairs (and one trio) to lip-sync against each other. After this, they were split into two groups: the winners and the losers who got “porkchopped,” referring to Victoria “Porkchop” Parker, the very first eliminated. queen in the first season. Donning a polaroid photo dress (with all pictures of herself), Symone pulled inspiration from a polaroid dress that Gisele Bündchen wore in the 1990s.
