NBC star Manny Montana has appeared in several movies and TV shows since the early 2000s. However, the actor landed the role of Rio on Good Girls. Although he plays a mysterious crime boss, Montana doesn’t mind discussing his personal life in public.

When Good Girls debuted in 2018, many viewers saw Montana for the first time. Soon, his interactions with the show’s main characters- Beth (Christina Hendricks), Ruby (Retta), and Annie (Mae Whitman), became some of the most buzzed-about moments on the show. As the series progresses, Good Girls fans realized that there’s more to Rio than meets the eye. During Good Girls Season 3, Rio revealed he has a son. Eventually, Beth uses his relationship with his son to befriend her boss’ ex, played by Jackie Cruz.
While Rio being a father might shock some fans, many also may not know that Montana is a real-life dad. In 2018, his wife, Adelfa Marr, posted an Instagram video of them hiking a trail with their son. Although the couple didn’t show their child’s face, Marr expressed her love for their family in her caption.
“@lbmannymontana and I went on a hike — our first hike together since I was seven months pregnant — and it was beautiful,” she wrote. “The roles were reversed this time around seeing as he was carrying around our (not so little) little one, but it was inspiring to see him carry our baby up a mountain and handling it like the boss that he is. I love my boys so much. Thank you for a beautiful day, my babies.”

While some Good Girls viewers might have overlooked the fact that Montana is married and has a kid, the Rio actor doesn’t shy away from his personal life when asked. During an interview with Marr on her website, the pair discussed Montana’s Good Girls role, as well as what’s to come for Rio throughout the series. Additionally, they talked about the actor’s family life and how he juggles being a husband, father, and working actor at the same time.
Although he admitted that it’s difficult to navigate between all of his duties, Montana wouldn’t have it any other way.
“It’s hard to balance my time sometimes but having such a loving family makes it easier,” the Rio actor said. “I’m having a great time being a father. It’s a whole new love that I’ve never felt. I know that’s cliché as shit, but it’s true! I hope it’s making me a better actor – I guess we’ll wait and see. But my life is a trip right now and I’m having a lot of fun. Having a baby is endless love times 10. You never know a love like this until you have a kid. It gets hard cause you’re tired but kids are just so funny and loving and all they want to do is laugh and be around you! I just hope it’s made me a better and a more patient person and same thing with my wife.”
