‘Good Girls’: Rio’s Gift to Beth May Provide a Major Clue About Their Relationship
In the midseason finale of NBC’s Good Girls, Rio brings his partnership with Beth to a new level. He sends her a boxed gift that confirms his next plan for the ladies. But Rio’s gift to Beth, along with a few other subtle moments in the episode, may reveal a significant clue about where their relationship is headed.

Rio and Beth get hit hard in ‘Good Girls’
In Good Girls’ May 16 episode, both Rio (Manny Montana) and Beth (Christina Hendricks) get hit hard. After Beth takes over the handbag sale, Stan (Reno Wilson) confronts her and suggests she uses everyone around her, including Ruby (Retta).
Beth has been sort of the leader of the crew from the get-go. And this confrontation with Stan seems to make her reflect on the choices she’s been making.
Then, much to Rio’s surprise, Nick’s bodyguard holds him down. Nick then throws a stash of cash on the floor and suggests Rio use it for a doctor before hitting him in the face with a wooden stool.
Both Rio and Beth were knocked slightly off their pedestals in the episode. But in the final scene, Rio sends Beth a gift box containing the template for Canadian bills, suggesting he wants the ladies to start printing Canadian money so they can all get back to business.
Do clues in the latest ‘Good Girls’ episode suggest Rio wants Beth to be his queen?
The gift box Rio sends is addressed to “Elizabeth,” not “Beth.” And inside, she finds the Canadian bill template featuring the face of Queen Elizabeth II.
Earlier in the episode, the strippers from Stan’s work are dancing dressed as queens. And all the while, they are performing to the song “Royals” by Lorde.
These moments, and Rio’s obvious gift to Beth, have Good Girls fans wondering if Rio is planning on making Beth his queen. “He has been trying to give her the keys to his kingdom for a long time, she just needs to take her throne,” one Reddit fan wrote.
“In [the second] season, he gave her ‘keys of the kingdom’ but also tells [her] he is out of business,” another Redditor added. “So she becomes the boss b***ch. This time they are together, they are king and queen.”
Hopefully, when the show returns, fans will get a better idea of where Rio and Beth stand — in terms of their business relationship and their romance. Good Girls will be back with new episodes on Sunday, June 24.
