‘GoT’ Star Emilia Clarke May Want to Join the MCU: Future Avenger?
Emilia Clarke is best known for her star-making role as Daenerys Targaryen, Mother of Dragons, in Game of Thrones. After taking on this lead character in the HBO saga based on George R.R. Martin’s novel series of the same name (which has yet to reach completion), Clarke became a household name overnight. And, she has since gone on to star in other major blockbusters, including Solo: A Star Wars Story, Me Before You, Terminator Genisys, Last Christmas, and more.
Though Emilia Clarke has jumped around genres — experimenting with romance, comedy, action, thriller, and more — she still has yet to appear in a Marvel Cinematic Universe installment. However, based on a recent interview, it appears that she would love to jump into a superhero soiree alongside our existing Avengers. Who would she play in the landscape?

During an interview with The Times, Emilia Clarke talked about her career, her time on Game of Thrones, and what she would like to do next. While her portfolio is already quite diverse, and likely to expand with each passing year, she would like to introduce a little bit more “silliness” into her acting career. When discussing the type of movie she would like to do in the future, Clarke explained:
I want to do something absolutely stupid and silly, like, you know, The Avengers or whatever. Something where I get to have a giggle with mates.

While “absolutely stupid and silly” can be interpreted as an insult, Clarke seems to be commenting on the behind-the-scenes energy known to characterize such installments. However, Guardians of the Galaxy and Thor: Ragnarok do not shy away from silliness on the screen either…

In an online discussion about Emilia Clarke’s recent interview with The Times, GoT and Marvel fans alike chimed in to discuss who she could play in the franchise. Who could the actress embody with ease?
From the blonde stunner Emma Frost and mutant Kitty Pryde (formerly portrayed by Ellen Page) to web-slinger Jessica Drew (one of the most famous iterations of Spider-Woman), several suggestions came up.
With suggestions all quite varied, it appears that fans feel Clarke is capable of taking on an assortment of MCU characters. Whether she will get her wish remains to be seen. However, if she’s thrown into the mix, GoT fans will expect to see her take on a pivotal character whose arc becomes more integral to the ever-expanding landscape with each passing appearance. Thus, a major X-Men character or Fantastic Four member could be in the cards, as both groups are set to join, yet down the line. Meaning, there’s more than enough time for Kevin Feige to enter conversations with Clarke surrounding such characters.
