‘Grey’s Anatomy’: Camilla Luddington’s ‘Shocking’ Moment of the Season Could be Kate Walsh’s Return
Grey’s Anatomy star Camilla Luddington teased a moment “more shocking” than McDreamy’s return in a recent interview. Since delivering a baby in the Dec. 10, 2020, episode, fans feel that Addison Montgomery (Kate Walsh) could return to the show to mentor Jo Wilson.
‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star Camilla Luddington ‘read a script’ recently ‘that completely floored’ her
After the return of Patrick Dempsey, fans can not believe there could be something more shocking. However, Luddington feels there is something else coming in Grey’s Anatomy Season 17 that is “more shocking” than his return.
“I just read a script, literally in the past two weeks, that completely floored me,” Luddington told Entertainment Tonight. “I had no idea, and it’s wild.”
George O’ Malley (T. R. Knight) also returned to the show in Meredith’s unconscious state, shocking fans. It is the season where many past characters are coming back.
“This season is, honestly, the season just turns everything on their head,” Luddington added. “In fact, I didn’t even believe it. I was like, ‘That’s not real.’ I was texting people! It’s a crazy season. To me, it was more shocking [than McDreamy’s return].”
Jo Wilson realized she wants to switch her specialty
On Dec. 10, 2020, Luddington’s character, Jo Wilson, unexpectedly delivered a baby. It gave her so much joy that she discussed switching her specialty to obstetrics.
“What if I changed?” Jo asked Levi Schmitt (Jake Borelli) after a long day of work at the hospital. “Careers. Programs. Is that insane?”
Schmitt listened before giving his advice.
“I know I put years into surgery,” Jo continued. “But if it’s not bringing me any joy, then wouldn’t it be insane to not change?”
The other surgeon suggested she sleep on it, but Jo did not back down.
“I want to be happy,” she added. “Tomorrow is not promised.”
The scene ends after Jo proclaimed her decision to switch specialties.
‘Grey’s Anatomy’ fans feel Kate Walsh could return to guide Jo in her new field
Addison Montgomery is a world-class neonatal surgeon who fans think of every time a baby is on the screen. Kate Walsh was a main character on Grey’s Anatomy in seasons 2 and 3. She moved to a guest star for seasons 4 through 8 while she was a main character on the spinoff series, Private Practice. Fans think that Walsh could return for a special guest appearance to help Jo switch specialties.
“Plot idea: Jo goes into neonatal surgery under the mentorship of Dr. Addison Montgomery,” one hopeful fan wrote on Reddit.
Other viewers quickly agreed that they would love to see Walsh return to the show, even for only an episode. Hopefully, the “shocking” moment Luddington was talking about is the return of this fan-favorite character.
