What to expect from ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 17 Episode 17

According to ABC, Grey’s Anatomy Season 17 Episode 17 will highlight Maggie Pierce (Kelly McCreary) and Winston Ndugu’s (Anthony Hill) wedding. The finale episode will also feature Meredith’s “new role” at Grey Sloan. Then Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington) will make a “life-changing decision.”

Of course, Grey’s Anatomy fans will just have to wait and see what actually happens in the season 17 finale. But according to showrunner Krista Vernoff, “Someone Saved My Life Tonight” will be “everything.”

“Just watched a cut of the season finale of #GreysAnatomy,” Vernoff wrote on Twitter in May 2021. “It. Is. Everything.”

Midway through Grey’s Anatomy Season 17, Vernoff suggested that episode 17 was being planned as both “a season finale or a series finale.”

“Either there will be closure or I will build something in that allows me to have a bit of a cliffhanger and a thread for next season,” Vernoff told The Hollywood Reporter in March 2021.

Now, ABC has officially renewed Grey’s Anatomy for season 18. So the season 17 finale won’t be the last episode of the series. Station 19 was also renewed for season 5.

Station 19 and Grey’s Anatomy have done an incredible job of honoring real-life heroes by giving audiences an unflinching look at one of the biggest medical stories of our time,” said Craig Erwich, President of Hulu Originals and ABC Entertainment, per Deadline. “We’re so grateful to our talented casts and crews for their extraordinary work that connects with viewers everywhere, and we look forward to sharing even more defining moments with our fans next season.”

Whatever happens in the Grey’s Anatomy Season 17 finale, we’re excited to see where the writers take Meredith and everyone at Grey Sloan. Stay tuned.
