Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 and Station 19 Season 5 will get another crossover event tonight, Sept. 30, 2021. The Shondaland shows will be released on the same channel as always, ABC.

The first episode of the crossover will technically be the Station 19 Season 5 premiere at 8 p.m. ET. Then the Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 premiere will begin at 9 p.m. ET and end at 10:01 p.m. ET. So the Shondaland crossover will be a total of two hours long.

What to expect from the ‘Station 19’ Season 5 crossover premiere on Sept. 30, 2021

According to ABC, the first half of the Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19 crossover event tonight is titled “Phoenix from the Flame.” The firefighter spinoff begins where the fourth season finale left off. But it’s the Phoenix Festival that brings the Station 19 crew and doctors at Grey Sloan Memorial together. The synopsis says:

Relationships are challenged at Station 19 following Sullivan’s actions at Maya and Carina’s wedding, putting his marriage with Andy to the test. Dean comes to terms with his feelings for Vic, while Travis rekindles an old flame. The annual Phoenix Festival brings out some reckless behavior in some of Seattle’s citizens, challenging the teams at Station 19 and Grey Sloan Memorial in the season premiere of Station 19.

ABC’s synopsis for new episodes of Station 19 Season 5 and Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 tonight confirms the “reckless behavior” at the Phoenix Fair. The surgeons at Grey Sloan must treat a patient who “encounters illegal fireworks” at the event. But there’s even more drama to look forward to. The synopsis says:

Bailey has her sights set on hiring new doctors, but she’s having trouble finding viable options. Owen and Teddy attempt to take the next step in their engagement, and Meredith has a surprising opportunity when she meets a dynamic doctor from her mother‘s past on the season premiere of Grey’s Anatomy.

Meanwhile, the Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 Episode 1 press release confirmed who will guest star in the premiere. The list includes Alex Landi as Nico Kim, Jaicy Elliot as Taryn Helm, Kate Burton as Dr. Ellis Grey, Abigail Spencer as Dr Megan Hunt, Debra Mooney as Evelyn Hunt, and Melissa DuPrey as Intern Sara Ortiz. It also seems like David Hamilton, who is played by Peter Gallagher, will be the “dynamic doctor” from Ellis’ past.
