Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton ‘Butt Heads’ Over ‘Work-Life Balance’ but Have Gotten Closer for It, Source Says
Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton met at pivotal points in their lives. Stefani was going through a divorce with Gavin Rossdale, while Shelton was divorcing Miranda Lambert. The couple met on The Voice in 2014 and tied the knot in 2021. A source recently said Stefani and Shelton “butt heads” over their “work-life balance,” but they’re always able to work it out. Here’s what’s going on.
Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton ‘butt heads’ over their ‘work-life balance,’ a source says
Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton seem more in sync than ever in 2024. The couple married in 2021 and continue sharing their love story on social media. While the No Doubt frontwoman and the country star seemed like an odd pairing at first, they proved opposites attract.
Stefani, Shelton, and Stefani’s three sons went to Italy in June 2024. The family reportedly went shopping and dined out while also spending time together ordering room service at their hotel.
“Gwen and Blake are doing amazing,” a source told Us Weekly. “They’re more in love than ever.”
While the couple loves doing life together and spending family time with one another, they aren’t perfect. “They still butt heads sometimes about work-life balance, but always work it out,” another source said. “They’ve gotten closer by tackling challenges together and supporting each other’s dreams.”
Yet another source said, “They talk things through until they come to a resolution that works for the both of them.” This same source added that Stefani and Shelton “had some hesitation about remarrying after divorces,” but they knew their romance was different.
While the couple might have trouble agreeing on work-life balance, another source told the publication that Shelton will visit Stefani while she’s a coach on The Voice next season. “Blake plans to visit Gwen on set when he’s in town,” the insider said. “They’re very involved in each other’s careers and are very good about spending time with each other even when they’re working.”
Blake Shelton said he ‘stayed too long’ on ‘The Voice’
Gwen Stefani will return to The Voice for season 26. She’s joining the show as a coach alongside Reba McEntire, Snoop Dogg, and Michael Bublé.
Fans would love to see Blake Shelton rejoin The Voice, but he is unlikely to return soon. The country star is busy getting back to making music and spending time on his Oklahoma farm. He told Entertainment Tonight that he stuck with the show far too long for him to miss it — and he even planned on retiring earlier than he did.
“I was planning on wrapping it up around 20 seasons or 21 seasons, and then, obviously, COVID hit, and then I didn’t want to walk out on the show in the middle of COVID, and them trying to scramble and figure out what to do, so I stayed,” he said. “I didn’t have anything else to do anyway, so I stayed a little bit longer. But I stayed too long for me to now miss it, I can promise you that.”
Gwen Stefani said she has ‘insecurities’ in her marriage
Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton seem to be lifelong partners. However, Stefani admitted to feeling insecure in her marriage occasionally.
“I had been going through those times where you’re questioning: ‘Oh my gosh, am I just getting older? Am I cute?’” she told Nylon. “In my own relationship, even though I know the truth of what’s happening today, you still create drama in your own mind about your insecurities and what might happen. I was in that phase of the relationship with Blake and getting paranoid.”
Shelton added that he shares the same insecurity. “These are conversations that she and I have with each other: ‘Are you still going to love me when I’m old or if I forget who I am?’” he said.
