Father’s Day isn’t just for biological dads. Anyone who fills a fatherly role deserves to be celebrated on Dad’s special day. That includes grandfathers, single moms, stepdads, and even soon-to-be stepdads. Gwen Stefani recently celebrated her boyfriend, Blake Shelton, on Father’s Day, which proves a lot about their relationship.

Stefani posted a picture of Shelton and her youngest son, Apollo, on Instagram with the caption “happy father’s day @blakeshelton thank u for helping me raise these boys!! #weloveyou! G❤️K❤️Z❤️A gx” In the pic, Apollo and Shelton are holding up a drawing of some animals.
Stefani has three boys with her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale. Apollo is the baby, at 6. Kingston is 14, and middle child Zuma is 11. Shelton has been spending a lot of time with the Rossdale boys. They’ve been quarantined at his Oklahoma ranch since March. It’s no wonder Stefani is grateful for all the help he’s provided. Quarantine has been hard on a lot of parents, but luckily Stefani isn’t at it alone.
Although Stefani didn’t post a Father’s Day message for her ex-husband on her Instagram page, Rossdale did share a pic of a message his son Kingston. Apparently they have been in some sort of contact during the pandemic, even though the children are staying with Stefani and Shelton full time.

Shelton has been seen in pictures with Stefani’s children before. They’ve been dating for five years. That would have made Apollo just 1.
It’s not clear exactly when Shelton met the boys, but just a year after he and Stefani started dating, things already seemed pretty serious. The couple met on the set of The Voice in 2015, and in 2016 Shelton said Stefani “saved my life.”
If he did meet the kids back in 2015, that could explain why they are so close. Stefani has shared pics of Shelton and her kids together before, including a video on Instagram for her son Kingston’s birthday.
In the clip, Shelton is kissing a reluctant Kingston on the head. Both are laughing. The caption reads: “happy b day kingking gx @blakeshelton #😘😘😘😘😘😘😘.” The images Stefani shares of Shelton and her sons paint the picture of a happy, blended family. Shelton has made it clear that even though he and Stefani aren’t married yet, he’s in the boys’ lives for the long hall.
In an interview with Gayle King, Stefani said in 10 years she expects to be at a lot of football games, considering she has three sons. Shelton answered: “Yeah, I really in the next 10 years, I see myself in this exact same scenario.”

Shelton and Stefani have made it clear that they’re going to stick together for a while. Stefani clearly values Shelton as a partner and sees him as a father figure to her children. Although the two are currently shacked up in Oklahoma to ride out the pandemic, they bought a house together in LA at the end of last year. So what’s keeping them from making it official?
Both Shelton and Stefani had very public breakups before getting together. Shelton divorced country star Miranda Lambert, and Stefani split from the father of her kids, Rossdale. The two are no strangers to tabloid rumors, and they’re not letting the media pressure them into marrying before they’re ready. Apparently Stefani is deeply religious, and she doesn’t want to wed Shelton unless she can get her previous marriage annulled.
