Gwen Stefani’s Favorite Song Is This Blake Shelton Hit
Gwen Stefani is everyone’s favorite pop-rocker. She has a very distinctive style, both in her music and with her fashion choices. But even though she’s been fairly consistent throughout her career, Stefani doesn’t limit herself when it comes to music that she likes to listen to.
In fact, she recently surprised us by listing one of her boyfriend’s, country music star Blake Shelton, songs as her favorite. However, that wasn’t the only surprise.
Gwen Stefani’s music career
As a teenager in the eighties, Stefani’s older brother, Eric introduced her to ska music and then invited her to join his band. She fell in love with the music, found that she had a talent for vocals, and quickly became an important part of the music group, which would later be known as No Doubt.
After several challenging years, including the suicide of fellow band-member, John Spence in 1987, the band nearly called it quits. However, Stefani encouraged the group to stay together and in 1991, they were finally signed to Interscope.
Success didn’t come right away though. Her brother left the band to illustrate for The Simpsons, and Stefani’s romantic relationship with another band member, bass player Tony Kanal, fell apart.
Stefani used those difficult times to inspire songs, which would make up No Doubt‘s third album: Tragic Kingdom. It’s release finally thrust the group into the spotlight they’d been looking for. Songs from the album, including Just a Girl and Don’t Speak became hits, and the album found it’s way to the number one spot on Billboard charts.
As the most eccentric member of the band, Stefani saw her career take off. She later released solo albums, including Love. Angel. Music. Baby, which included the mega-hit track Hollaback Girl, and The Sweet Escape.
Gwen Stefani’s relationship with Blake Shelton
After a 14 year marriage to Bush frontman, Gavin Rossdale, Stefani began a relationship with Shelton. The couple met on the set of The Voice when they were both going through divorces, and bonded over their mutual heartbreak.
Fans were surprised when the couple became official, because of their completely different styles. Stefani still dresses in attention-grabbing rock-star outfits, while Shelton appears much more down to earth, in keeping with his country music persona. But the couple is obviously in love and they’re often cited as “relationship goals” in the media.
Over the course of their relationship, the public has come to realize that Stefani and Shelton are more alike than we realized. Stefani’s recent comment about one of Shelton’s songs is just one example.
Gwen Stefani’s favorite music
During an interview with Gayle King for CBS This Morning, the couple was asked what song they could listen to on repeat. Shelton chose Angel in Disguise by Earl Thomas Conley, but Stefani had a more personal answer.
At first, she couldn’t remember the song’s title. “I’m really bad at titles,” she explained, before asking Shelton what it was called. After a brief back and forth, she announced that Anyone Else, one of Shelton’s own songs, was her favorite.
But that isn’t the only music Stefani listens to. When King asked who she’d want to collaborate with, Stefani quickly answered “Rihanna and Post Malone, maybe? Is two okay?”
King then admitted that she was a Post Malone fan, and Stefani agreed. “I love him,” she said.
In the past, Stefani has collaborated with artists like Eve, Eminem, Pharrell Williams, and Andre 3000. There’s no doubt that Post Malone is a major force in the industry today. A collaboration between him and Stefani would be amazing. We know she’s a fan, and she’d love to work with him.
