Halsey Wows With Her Cover of ‘Part of Your World’ From ‘The Little Mermaid’
In April 2020, ABC began airing The Disney Family Singalong. The TV program is hosted by Ryan Seacrest and helps raise awareness for Feeding America during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Each episode, musicians perform songs from Disney movies in their homes with audiences singing along. On May 10, Halsey wowed viewers with her cover of “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid.
The purpose of ‘The Disney Family Singalong’
ABC began airing The Disney Family Singalong on April 16 and so far there have been two different volumes of performances. In addition to Halsey, the special has featured stars including Christina Aguilera, Michael Bublé, Kristin Chenoweth, Auli’i Cravalho, Jordan Fisher, Josh Gad, Derek Hough, Julianne Hough, Thomas Rhett, Amber Riley, Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Idina Menzel, and Ben Platt.
For each song performance, a character guides viewers through the lyrics shown onscreen. The Disney Family Singalong also features PSAs about Feeding America, encouraging those who need help to visit FeedingAmerica.org/FeedTheLove.

We hope that we can help create some new unforgettable moments in everyone’s home in a way that only the magic of Disney can,” Karey Burke, ABC’s entertainment president said in a press release.
Halsey performed ‘Part of Your World’ from ‘The Little Mermaid’
On May 10, Halsey took part in The Disney Family Singalong: Volume II and performed “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid.
“I’ll be singing ‘Part Of Your World’ tonight on The Disney Family Singalong: Volume II at 7/6c on ABC !!!! #DisneyFamilySingalong,” Halsey tweeted before the performance.
During the performance, Halsey wore a white dress and had bright red hair resembling Ariel from The Little Mermaid. Vocally, the singer-songwriter’s performance was chill-inducing perfection. Halsey nailed every note, and her rendition of The Little Mermaid hit brought on the nostalgia.
The Disney Family Singalong: Volume II featured other great performances. Some of the standouts were Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, Donald Glover, and Walter Russell III performing “Hakuna Matata” from The Lion King, Idina Menzel and Ben Platt performing “A Whole New World” from Aladdin, and Chloe x Halle and Anika Noni Rose performed “Almost There” from The Princess and the Frog.
Fans loved Halsey’s performance of ‘Part of Your World’ from ‘The Little Mermaid’
The next day on Twitter, fans could not get over Halsey’s performance of “Part of Your World.” ABC’s tweet about the performance has over six thousand likes and hundreds of thousands of views.
One Twitter user wrote, “Can Halsey release Part of your World as a single or is that asking too much?”
“The way i cried to halsey singing part of your world,” tweeted a fan.
“Halsey completely nailed singing part of your world from the little mermaid the perfect ariel,” wrote a fan on Twitter.
One Twitter user wrote, “I’m not sure who Halsey is, but her version of ‘Part of Your World’ was beautiful. I had goosebumps!”
