Hannah Brown Reacts to Country Singer Jake Owen’s Diss Song Inspired by Her ‘Bachelor’ Conversation With Peter Weber
The first episode of Peter Weber’s season of The Bachelor featured an emotional conversation between the lead and former bachelorette Hannah Brown. Everyone watching along at home had some pretty strong feelings about the exchange. One of those viewers was none other than country music singer Jake Owen.
After the episode aired, Owen took to his social accounts to share a little ditty he wrote inspired by the interaction. The song is called “Alabama Hannah.”
Jake Owen’s diss song about ‘Alabama Hannah’
Alabama Hannah, what do you want? If it’s love that you need, well then honey, it’s gone. You had your chances, so won’t you leave me alone. Alabama Hannah, won’t you go on back home.
I been out here in California, I’ve been soaking up the sun. There’s lots of pretty ladies, and I can’t pick just one. I’m flying high, I got peace of mind, I already raised the bar. Now you’re showing up here tonight, who do you think you are?
You’re a beauty queen and a dancing star and I think you’ll do just fine.
Well I guess you think you messed up since you seen me moving on, thinking we could pick up, right where we left off. But you got to lay in the bed you made, and I hate to let you down. Girl this ain’t no windmill, we can’t go round and round.
Despite the very specific lyrics, Owen assured his following: “I love Hannah Brown, she’s awesome. So it’s no diss on her.”
Brown and Owen know each other because the country singer performed for her and a date during her season of The Bachelorette. “I think it was like Rhode Island or something,” he said.
Hannah Brown’s reaction to Jake Owen’s song
On Thursday January 9, Brown posted her reaction to her Instagram stories.
“Dying right now,” she began. “My mom just sent me a text thats said, “Sh*t, you finally got a song written about you,” with a link to a song that Jake Owen wrote after watching me and Peter last Monday on The Bachelor.
Brown continued: “By the way, Jake, I thought we were cool. Come on. It’s hilarious and even though it’s like a diss at me the whole time I was tapping my foot along to it and laughing. You need to check it out.”
Brown also let Owen know that when he wants to use her for the music video she’ll try to get her hands on some waterproof mascara.
“I love my team Hannah B people that, you know, are looking out for me but to be quite honest this is funny. At least the shade, the diss is catchy. You can tap your foot to it. But it’s not near as brutal as what some of these 40-year-old Facebook moms say about me,” she said.
“I’m good,” she assured her fans.
