From ‘Happier than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles’ to ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ — Here’s What Movies to Watch on Disney+ in September 2021
Disney’s streaming platform has plenty of Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars flicks. September 20210 also brings plenty of new films to Disney+, including some originals like Billie EIlish’s Happier than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles.
Here are some new productions to watch on Disney’s subscription service during September.
‘Happier than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles’
Hot off of the heels of her album release, Eilish will star in her own live concert experience, titled Happier than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles. This production will be available exclusively on Disney’s streaming platform, beginning on Sept. 3.
‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’
The original superhero films, X-Men and X-Men: Apocalypse, are both available on Disney+. As of Sept. 3, the 2019 release X-Men: Dark Phoenix will also be available for binge-watching.
‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’
There are several movies in this action-adventure franchise full of jokes, gags, and piracy. Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides debuts on Disney’s streaming platform Sept. 10.
In the meantime, other movies featuring the characters like Jack Sparrow and Elizabeth Swann are available for binge-watching, including Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.
‘Confessions of a Shopaholic’
Rebecca Bloomwood is a New York City native, known for her love of shopping. She dreamed of working at a fashion magazine, but there were a few obstacles in her way. Confessions of a Shopaholic joins the Disney+ streaming library on Sept. 17.
‘Disney’s Broadway Hits At London’s Royal Albert Hall’
Broadway might’ve closed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic now, however, some of Disney’s best Broadway hits will be available for streaming on their subscription service. Disney’s Broadway Hits At London’s Royal Albert Hall premieres on Sept. 17, featuring showstopping performances and iconic songs.
‘Spooky Buddies’
October is just around the corner, with the Disney+ library housing films like Hocus Pocus, Halloweentown, and The Nightmare Before Christmas. On Sept. 24, Spooky Buddies, featuring some adorable puppies as the main characters, debuts on Disney+.
‘The Fault in Our Stars’
This heartbreaking rom-com, featuring Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort as the main characters, tells the story of two star-crossed lovers who embark on a trip to Europe together.
Their relationship becomes complicated with health-related obstacles, but these characters spend whatever time they have left together in love. The Fault in Our Stars debuts on Disney+ on Sept. 24.
This month also brings plenty of Disney original shows. New episodes of Turner & Hooch premiere weekly, while September also marks the debut of the Pixar Animation Studios’ original show, Dug Days.
