Harry Styles’ Fans are Loving His Fishnet Look
Harry Styles rose to fame in the early 2010s as the youngest member of One Direction. From the very beginning, Styles attracted a lot of fans for his curly hair and boy-next-door charms.
After One Direction went on hiatus a few years ago, Styles made a name for himself as a solo artist. He transformed into a young rock star and started making headlines for some of his bold fashion choices.
Recently, Styles also shocked fans when he showcased a bold fishnet look for a magazine photoshoot.
Harry Styles’ fishnet look broke a magazine’s website
Beauty Papers, a British bi-annual magazine, recently shared photos from an editorial with Styles for their latest issue, called “Revolution.” In a few photos, Styles could be seen sitting in a wooden chair and wearing nothing but fishnet stockings and a pair of loafers.
There were also pictures of Styles fully dressed in a suit and balancing on one foot.
News of the photos spread around the internet, and, reportedly, caused Beauty Papers’ website to crash. The magazine said on its social media: “We’ve been overwhelmed by your response to our new issue. It crashed us and the internet! We have been working 24/7 to fix.”
Fans cannot get enough of Harry Styles in fishnet stockings
Fans have very positive reactions to seeing Styles in fishnet stockings. Many took to social media to express their thoughts and support for the singer.
“I’m so f**king proud of Harry, he has grown so much,” one person wrote on Twitter. “He can express himself and is comfortable enough to share it with us. That’s why I’m so happy. He is comfortable enough to share this beautiful side of him. And I love it. This is Harry Styles. And I’m proud of him.”
Meanwhile, another fan tied in Styles’ pictures with Beauty Papers’ overall theme of revolution, saying: “Harry wearing makeup, dresses, fishnets, heels, jewels… doesn’t say anything about his sexuality. And as far as I’m concerned this isn’t any of our business, just appreciate the art and be proud of your idol for fighting gender norms and being part of this amazing revolution.”
Harry Styles has been known to break gender norms
Although Styles’ fishnet look fascinates many people, this is hardly the first time the 26-year-old singer is seen wearing something gender non-conforming. In the past few years, he has been embracing androgynous fashion and pushing all sorts of boundaries regarding what gender should wear what clothes.
He once said in an interview: “I don’t think people are still looking for this gender differentiation. Even if the masculine and feminine exist, their limits are the subject of a game… We no longer need to be this or that. I think now, people are just trying to be good. In fashion and other fields, these parameters are no longer as strict as before, and it gives rise to great freedom. It’s stimulating.”
As an example, Styles is known for getting manicures and painting his nails various colors. When he appeared on Saturday Night Live a few months ago, he sported fingernails painted with several colors of the rainbow. This was even dubbed the “Skittles manicure.”
He also wears dresses occasionally in photoshoots, such as during an editorial for The Guardian.
Perhaps one of Styles’ most famous androgynous look is his Met Gala 2019 outfit, which consisted of a frilly see-through top, pearl earrings, and heeled shoes. Of course, his outfit would not be complete without brightly-painted nails.
