How Harry Styles Used Lockdown to Be a Better Person
Harry Styles is one of the most popular and talented artists of this decade. The UK native was discovered by Simon Cowell on The X Factor in 2010. This led to the start of his music career and the development of One Direction. The boy band released five successful albums before the band members went their separate ways.
Since then, Styles has shown the world that he is just fine being a solo artist. His debut album, Harry Styles, dropped in 2017. The singer’s sophomore album, Fine Line, dropped two years later. As his fans can probably recall, Fine Line contained hits like “Watermelon Sugar” and “Adore You.”
With Style’s third album set to drop on May 20, the musician’s fans and followers are buzzing with excitement. However, it isn’t just Styles’ upcoming music that has everyone talking.
How Harry Styles used lockdown to be a better person
For better or for worse, the pandemic changed the world and, with it, everyone. However, many took proactive steps while experiencing the unusual and unprecedented isolation.
Styles was one of the many artists in the media who wanted to use the lockdown as a chance to grow and learn. Back in 2020, when Styles announced the cancellation of his tour, he tweeted:
“I will be using this time to listen, and to educate myself on how I can help more in the fight for justice and equal rights for all in the future. I hope that you will take the time to do the same. Treat people with kindness. I love you all.”
What Styles shared about his lockdown experience
Almost two years later, Styles is still committed to his mission of personal growth. His recent feature in Better Homes & Gardens was a testimony to this. Having the time to reflect, Styles became aware of his tendencies to deflect and avoid, and he wanted to make a change.
In his interview, Styles explained what that really looked like and meant for him. The musician explained he wanted to use the lockdown to become a better brother, son, and friend. Styles said, “Whether it was with friends or people I was dating, I was always gone before it got to the point of having to have any difficult conversations.”
A closer look at what Harry Styles shared about his home
Styles’ self-improvement journey didn’t stop with the dynamics and roles of his relationships. Spending all of his time at his house forced the artist to reflect on his meaning of home. In his interview with Better Homes & Gardens, Styles disclosed, “I realized that that home feeling isn’t something that you get from a house; it’s more of an internal thing. You realize that when you stop for a minute.” As luck would have it, he would have quite a few minutes.
With an upcoming tour in the books, Styles’ fame and popularity are only likely to increase. Appropriately titled Harry’s House, the singer’s third album seems to perfectly align with the star’s journey and mission.
When speaking about the album, Styles shared, “It sounds like the biggest, and the most fun, but it’s by far the most intimate.” His fans and followers are definitely looking forward to Styles’ new music and what else he has in store for the future.
