‘Hawaii Five-0,’ ‘Magnum P.I.’ and ‘Blue Bloods’ Return September 27. Here’s What to Expect.
September 27 is a landmark day for Blue Bloods. That’s when the 200th episode — and the season premiere — of the popular Tom Selleck police drama will air.
Magnum P.I. and Hawaii Five-0 will also return to TV on the 27th. But one staple of the network’s Friday night lineup won’t be back until midseason. Season 4 of MacGyver has been delayed until 2020.
Jamie and Eddie go apartment hunting on ‘Blue Bloods’
Jamie (Will Estes) and Eddie’s (Vanessa Ray) much-anticipated wedding finally happened in the season 9 finale of Blue Bloods. Now, the newly married couple are hunting for a new apartment in the season 10 premiere episode “The Real Deal,” which airs at 10/9c.
In the episode, Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) and Baez (Marisa Ramirez) must also deal with a year-old homicide investigation brought to their attention by Maggie (Callie Thorne), a medium who previously helped them close a case. Frank (Tom Selleck) decides to help out when the daughter of his former partner Lenny Ross (Treat Williams) is arrested. Meanwhile, Erin (Bridget Moynahan) has to face a cold-blooded defense attorney she’s tangled with before.
An assassin targets mob bosses in the premiere of ‘Hawaii Five-0’
Season 9 of Hawaii Five-0 ended with a cliffhanger as fans were left wondering if the wife of Omar Hassan had really shot McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin). Based on CBS’s description of the season 10 premiere, it sounds like McGarrett survives and now has a new ally who is helping him and the rest of the team track down an assassin who has mob bosses in his sights.
But the Five-0 team also “says goodbye to one of their own” in this episode, which sounds pretty ominous. Katrina Law joins the Five-0 cast as Quinn Liu in this episode and Rob Morrow guest stars. It airs at 8/7c.
Will Magnum get a new partner on ‘Magnum P.I.’?
The Hawaii-set Magnum P.I. returns for a second season on September 27. In ‘Payback for Beginners,’ Magnum (Jay Hernandez) is waiting to find out if Higgins (Perdita Weeks) will agree to be his new partner. Meanwhile, he’s taken on the case of a woman who disappeared after witnessing her boss get murdered during a bank robbery. Plus, Rick (Zachary Knighton) makes a major decision about his career. The episode airs at 9/8c.
What happened to ‘MacGyver’?
MacGyver fans will notice a glaring omission from CBS’s fall schedule. The reboot of the 1980s action drama is missing, but don’t panic. The show, which stars Lucas Till as Angus “Mac” MacGyver, has been renewed for a fourth season, but new episodes won’t premiere until 2020.
So far, we don’t know much yet about the new season, but George Eads, who played Jack Dalton, definitely won’t be back. His last episode aired in February 2019. Levy Tran, who plays Desi Nguyen, has been promoted to series regular to replace Eads.
