Who Is Hawks’ Star Trae Young’s Wife Shelby Miller?
Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young has become a superstar in the NBA. He was drafted by the Dallas Mavericks with the fifth pick in 2018 but was later traded to the Hawks. Young made his playoff debut in May 2021 and bounced the New York Knicks out of the playoffs while infuriating the Knickerbockers fan base at the same time. When he became public enemy No. 1 during the series on the huge stage that is Madison Square Garden, people in the Big Apple and beyond wanted to know more about Young’s life off the court, including if he was in a relationship with anyone. Turns out, he’s married.

How Young and Miller met and when they got married
Shelby Danae Miller was born on Oct. 25, 1995, in Norman, Oklahoma. She attended the University of Oklahoma and that’s where she met her beau. Young was part of the Oklahoma Sooners basketball team and Miller was a member of the school’s cheerleading squad. They have reportedly been dating since 2018.
These days she’s his biggest cheerleader and was on hand when he played the Knicks at MSG. Being in attendance means she heard the opposing fans chanting negative comments about her man. But as Young told Audacy’s V-103, he actually views that as “a sign of respect” [because] “they’re not doing that for everybody.”
After dating for years, Young and Miller tied the knot in the summer of 2023.
The couple posted plenty of videos together during quarantine
In 2020, while people were figuring out what to do with all their time at home in lockdown, Young and Miller started posting some cute TikTok videos together and doing Q&A sessions for their followers during quarantine.
As Hoop Life Central noted, one burning question the couple got from a fan was how many children they wanted.
Miller responded that they would like “three.”
So far, they have two. A son, Tydus Reign Young, who was born on June 2, 2022, and their daughter, Teal Dove Young, who they welcomed on Nov. 13, 2023.
Young reacts to viral moment involving his ex-girlfriend
One of Young’s ex-girlfriends made headlines in April 2020, and the NBA player was one of the people who responded to her viral moment.
During the 2020 NFL Draft, prospect CeeDee Lamb was selected by the Dallas Cowboys. Cameras cut to him on the couch with his girlfriend, Crymson Rose, while chatting with his new team. The clip, which quickly circulated on the internet, shows Rose taking Lamb’s cell phone before he grabs it back out of her hand. Social media dubbed it the “phone snatch” and thousands of people commented including Young.
“Bruh said ‘nahhhh what you doin,” the Hawks guard wrote alongside a retweet of the video. Not much gets past social media detectives though as they dug up pics of Young and Rose together and pointed out that she is his ex.
Oh and about that “phone snatch” seen around the world, Rose cleared things up and denied that she was trying to snoop on Lamb’s phone. “His agent was FaceTiming him while he was on the phone with the Cowboys,” she explained (per TMZ). “I was doing the GF thing gonna answer it for him sheesh.”
