With about a decade of releasing music, Paramore is one of the rock scene’s most influential bands. Their 2007 release Riot included the chart-topping hit “Misery Business,” which holds over 440 million plays on the streaming platform Spotify. One of the musicians behind this band is Williams, who functions as Paramore’s lead vocalist.

Some also know the Paramore artist for her bold hairstyles, from a “matchstick on fire” to an aqua blue to jet black. Williams shared that she first dyed her hair before joining the Grammy Award-winning band.

“When my mom and I moved to Nashville, nobody knew me, so I had a fresh start. I told my mom that I wanted to play around with my hair color, and when I was about 12, she took me to have it dyed,” Williams said during an interview with Racked. “I didn’t love the color, though, because it wasn’t fun!”

Hayley Williams real hair color is dirty blonde or light brown

When Paramore first released music for the All We Know Is Falling era, Williams appeared with her natural hair color. That was a brownish, dirty blonde color. Shortly after, Williams traded her brown locks for a bright orange, synonymous with the iconic “Misery Business” music video.

Although the red/orange hair era lasted several years, Williams eventually experimented with other hair colors. While promoting the 107 album After Laughter, Williams sported platinum blonde hair with bangs. This hairstyle then appeared in the “Hard Times” and “Rose-Colored Boy” music videos.

Williams often shares her love for self-expression through makeup and different hairstyles. The Paramore artist even created her own hair dye company to promote self-love via funky, fun, experimental hairstyles.

Williams took her love for unique hairstyles to the next level, creating the Good Dye Young hair dye brand with her longtime hairstylist and makeup artist, Brian O’Connor. Good Dye Young has permanent hair dyes, as well as “poser paste” which can be removed by washing.

“Hair is one of the coolest and easiest tools that we have for self-expression,” Williams said in a statement regarding her company. “It’s your own personal megaphone and it’s attached to your head! Our purpose is to create an all-inclusive culture that inspires creativity and empowers everyone’s journey through self-discovery with a whole lot more fun so we can all dye happy.”

Williams also releases music as a solo artist, including the 2021 song “Over Those Hills,” available on Spotify and Apple Music.
