Heather Rae Young’s ‘Selling Sunset’ Co-Stars Congratulate Her on Engagement to Tarek El Moussa
Heather Rae Young is officially engaged. The Selling Sunset star said yes to her boyfriend of one year, Tarek El Moussa, after he popped the question on July 25 during a romantic weekend getaway on California’s Catalina Island.
The Flip or Flop star whisked Young, 32, away to celebrate their anniversary and then surprised her by presenting her with a ring. El Moussa, 38, shared the happy news on Instagram, telling his followers, “She said yes!” Young also updated her fans on her relationship status, describing herself in an Instagram post as “The Future Mrs. Tarek El Moussa!!!!”

Congratulations rolled in after Young let everyone know she was getting married, including from her fellow Selling Sunset cast members.
“Ahhhh I’m so happy for you,” Davina Potratz commented. “Beautiful. Congratulations to you both.”
Maya Vander also expressed her excitement over the news. “Omg!!!! Congratulations!!!!” the 32-year-old real estate agent wrote. “So happy for you!!!”
Amanza Smith wasn’t totally surprised by Young’s news, commenting that she was hoping the couple would soon get engaged. “OMG!!!! I was soooo hoping this would happen during your amazing anniversary adventure! Congratulations babe!” she wrote.
Young’s boss, Jason Oppenheim of The Oppenheim Group, shared his well wishes on El Moussa’s post. “Amazing my man, you two are perfect together!” the real estate mogul wrote. Selling Sunset’s Chrishell Stause also congratulated the HGTV star.

Though Young and El Moussa have only been dating for about a year, she said earlier this year she was more than ready to walk down the aisle.
“I can’t wait to marry Tarek El Moussa. I can’t wait to be engaged to him,” Young told E! News in May. “It’s something that when we talk about it, it’s real. I know that it’s going to happen, but I don’t like to push either and I don’t like to bring it up all the time.”
Both Young and El Moussa have gushed over each other on social media. In a post shared just days before he announced his engagement, the Flipping 101 host said he wasn’t looking for a relationship when he met Young. But as soon as the two connected, “I knew my life would never be the same.”
“Best moment of my life was meeting you,” Young replied. “I promise to love you forever and ever!”
El Moussa said he was in a ‘dark’ place before he met Young
El Moussa’s happy ending with Young comes several years after a high-profile split from Flip or Flop co-host Christina Anstead (previously Christina El Moussa). The pair separated in 2016 and finalized their divorce in 2018. She married Wheeler Dealers host Ant Anstead in December 2018 and welcomed a baby in September 2019.
After his marriage ended, El Moussa went through a rocky period in his life. He told Entertainment Tonight he was in a “dark” place before meeting Young and said she helped him change his life for the better.
“You know, I was a guy that lost everything,” he said. “I hit rock bottom. You know, I was at the lowest, lowest, lowest point in my life to the point where I could barely get out of bed.”
But now, with Young by his side, things are looking up. New love combined with hard work have put him in a happier place.
“It’s like anything in life; I just put a lot of work into myself and really focused on trying to become the person that I’ve always wanted to be,” he said.
