Klum was asked about her experience given the allegations behind Union’s exit. She talked about having a very different experience than the claims.

“I’ve only had an amazing experience,” she said at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour, according to E! News. “I can’t speak for [Gabrielle]. I didn’t experience the same thing. To me, everyone treats you with the utmost respect. I’ve never seen anything that was weird or hurtful.”

She did touch on the teasing that goes on between the judges. “Of course, there’s always this cat-and-dog fight, but this is fun. You say something silly,” said Klum. “For me, being on television, I want to entertain people. I want people to have a good time. I want people to go away from their life for two hours and just have fun and enjoy.”

Gabrielle Union called out people for defending ‘America’s Got Talent’ during investigation

Variety reported that Union spoke out against a racist incident while working on America’s Got Talent. A source also claimed her hair was considered “too Black” for the show’s audience. SAG-AFTRA announced it was launching an investigation into her exit.

Klum wasn’t the only one to defend the show during the investigation. Host, Terry Crews also talked about his experience.

“It just was not my experience,” he told Us Weekly. “It was the best experience I ever had in my entire life.”

Crews then talked about the diversity on the show. “When they talk about diversity, there was every bit of diversity on set, everywhere,” he claimed. “I have never been in a more diverse place in 20 years of entertainment, so what can I say?”

Union later responded to the comments on Twitter. One of her tweets read, “Maaaaaan… We all agreed to let the investigation be completed before speaking but if we doing this… ohhhhh baby let’s gooooooooooo!”

Klum said many people were mad at her

The judge did notice the backlash for her defense of the show. She talked about some of the comments directed at her with Page Six.

“A lot of people got mad at me. I was called, for example, ‘a white woman,’” she said. Klum added, “I think it is important for everyone to speak their truth. I think that when there is a story, it should be told. I had a different story.”

She further talked about her previous statement. “I can only speak to what I saw — it has nothing to do with what color I am. I am a human so I just looked at what I saw,” said the model.

Crews has since apologized to Union for his comments about America’s Got Talent. The results of the investigation has yet to be revealed.
