Here Are the 4 Scariest Scenes From ‘American Horror Story: Roanoke’
It’s a horror show within a horror story. American Horror Story: Roanoke brought a documentary-style series to FX, complete with teeth falling from the sky, cannibals, witches, and an angry mob of colonial ghosts.
Here are four of the scariest scenes from this season of American Horror Story.
Cricket Marlowe’s death at the hand of the Butcher (Episode 4)
American Horror Story has had some pretty grizzly deaths since its premiere. Cricket’s disembowelment by the Butcher is among them. This character was just trying to help, after all, functioning as a psychic and linking the humans with the spirits of the Roanoke colony.
The car vlog from a ‘My Roanoke Nightmare’ cast member (Chapter 6)
This documentary was a huge success and, according to some producers, totally fake. When the cast and crew return to the house for the spinoff series for My Roanoke Nightmare, though, they quickly realize that the horrors of the land are completely true.
One assistant, after seeing some crew members die unexpectedly, decides she’s had enough.
She gets in her car and starts recording a vlog of why she decided to leave but then, she sees something, or someone, standing in the middle of the road. When she turns her camera back to the inside of the car, the Piggy Man is waiting for her.
The cast starts filming the horror reality series — Rory goes missing (Chapter 7)
When filming for season 2 is just starting out, a lot of the strange occurrences around the house are still thought to be a joke. That includes when Rory, the cast member who played Edward Philippe Mott in My Roanoke Nightmare, goes missing.
His partner thinks he just left to do another filming project. However, he was one of the first victims of a huge blood moon-induced killing spree.
Then, when some of the cast members are trying to leave through the underground tunnel, they think they see Rory. Turns out, it’s one of the many demonic spirits of the property.
The Polks prepare Lee for dinner (Chapter 7 and Chapter 8)
Lee’s faced a few horrors the first time she went into this Roanoke house. The second time around, though, she was kidnapped by the deranged Polk family, along with two of her castmates.
Lee is separated from the others and pieces of her leg are ripped off and fed to her friends. She also loses her ear, as the family explains that it’s a tradition to gift pickled ears at Christmas. Crazy.
The cop manages to escape with her life, although some of the other members of My Roanoke Nightmare weren’t so fortunate.
More news regarding American Horror Story’s 10th season, and its spinoff American Horror Stories, will presumably be announced in the coming months.
