Ant Anstead Shuts Fan Down, Defends Christina Anstead From Claim She ‘Abandoned’ Her Baby
Christina and Ant Anstead recently confirmed they were splitting up after two years of marriage. The couple featured on HGTV’s Christina on the Coast shares an adorably baby that they co-parent. Recently, Christina has been on the receiving end of horrible attacks on her parenting. The interior designer was accused of “abandoning” her child and Ant shut that down quickly.
Why are fans saying Christina Anstead is an ‘absent mother?’
Since confirming the separation, Ant has focused on healing himself from the breakup. The Wheeler Dealers host has been regularly active on social media and sharing intimate moments with fans. A lot of those intimate moments include his time with baby Hudson. Fans have been privy to seeing Ant spend time with his son.
However, some fans have not seen the same activity from Christina over on her Instagram account. Some social media users have assumed that the Flip or Flop star is not taking care of her baby and has “abandoned” him. That comment didn’t sit well with Ant and he came out to shut it down.
“His mom abandoned him,” the fan commented under a post made by Ant.
“Not true,” Ant replied. “Christina and I share him equally. I happen to have some time off and want all my spare moments with him.”
On the same post, another fan asked if Ant gets help to take care of his baby.
“Oh no!” the car enthusiast answered. “I’m 100% solo! No help needed and a dab hand at nappy changing.”
Christina Anstead fires back at false accusations
Christina has been as open as she is comfortable with after her split from Ant. The HGTV personality has eased off social media in the last couple of weeks and been absent from posting new updates. However, after she was accused of being an “absent mother,” she fired back at all the haters.
“I hardly post anymore … and I [definitely] do not want to post my kids every freaking day to make it a contest of who’s a better parent,” the TV personality posted on Instagram. “This doesn’t mean I’m not with my kids — it means the opposite — I am with them, I’m present. So stop parent shaming people, stop choosing sides when there is no side to choose.”
The Orange County, California native not only co-parents her baby with Ant, she also has two kids with her previous husband Tarek El Moussa. On top of her duties as a mother, Christina stars on her own HGTV show as well as Flip or Flop. Her schedule is full and she doesn’t find it fair that people continue to judge her.
“My point being, when you see stuff on here take it all with a grain of salt,” she added. “There is a whole lot of filters and fake smiles. I’ve been guilty of faking it too. We are all struggling – some of us are just better at ‘masking’ it.
Christina is currently filming a new season of Christina on the Coast which is set to air a new season sometime in 2021. There’s no word if the star will touch on her divorce from Ant in the new season.
