HGTV Star Christina Anstead Is ‘Done Playing the Game’ After Backlash From Ant Anstead Split
Christina Anstead is one of the popular HGTV personalities starring on Flip or Flop and Christina on the Coast. The interior designer is one of the most beloved for her aesthetic and her home makeovers. Christina recently made news after she announced she was splitting from her husband Ant Anstead, less than two years of their marriage. Following the breakup, Christina has gotten backlash from some but she has now said she is “done playing the game.”

Christina has received horrible comments on her social media as some believe she was the one who decided to divorce Ant. The reality TV personality is perceived to be the “bad person” and has gotten mean messages directed at her. Since then she has limited commenting on her Instagram posts but she recently updated her fans on how she’s doing.
In a new publication she made on the social network, Christina shared a video out on the ocean watching a pod of dolphins. Along with the clip, the HGTV host also shared a strong message about how she’s coping with the added anxiety.
“When we have a choice to get caught up in all the nonsense or just choose to find peace… I’m choosing the anomaly,” she started. “It’s interesting how you can go from being worried, getting anxious about what people are saying about you, to just deciding not to read, read into any of it.”
Christina called out all the negativity she had been seeing online and is at a point where she wants to get past it and not allow it to affect her.
“When you are officially done ‘playing the game.’ We all have the choice… choose the one that makes you feel good,” Christina continued. “I’ve always loved the ocean and find it relaxing — To me — this is peace and perfection.”
What is Ant Anstead doing to cope with divorce?
Following the announcement Christina made about splitting up from Ant, he seemingly remained hopeful of a reconciliation. The Wheeler Dealers star broke his silence days later giving an update to his fans and hoping Christina the best.
“Anyone who really knows me knows that I don’t like to share private matters publicly,” Ant shared on Instagram. “I have remained silent while holding on to hope. I never gave up on us [and] I pray Christina’s decision brings her happiness.”
Since then, he joined a men’s prayer group that helps him cope with the situation. In addition, Ant also started a program that has helped through his “Breakup Recovery.” After thirty days of taking the courses, he said it was a “lifeline” for him.
“I am now on Day 30 of this and I have to say it’s been a lifeline for me,” he posted on his Instagram Stories. “If anyone else out there needs this, DO IT!”
Both HGTV stars are continue to face their new reality with a strong support system around them during this difficult time in both of their lives. Ant and Christina have a baby together that they will not have to co-parent and a good relationship between them will be key to their success.
