Was Hilary Duff in ‘Cheaper by the Dozen?’
Released in 2003, Cheaper by the Dozen introduced fans to this lovable and chaotic family of 12. One of the Baker children, Lorraine, was portrayed by one Disney alumni known for her roles in Disney Channel productions.
Here’s what we know about Hilary Duff and her appearance in this comedy film.
Hilary Duff stars in both ‘Cheaper by the Dozen’ and its sequel
There’s a lot of love in this family of 12. Fans first met the Baker family with the original Cheaper by the Dozen film, a movie released by Disney featuring actors Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt.
The cast reunited for the sequel, Cheaper by the Dozen 2, where the Bakers enjoyed one last summer as a family before some characters moved away. This proved to be more difficult than expected, especially with the successful Jimmy Murtaugh across the lake.
As a member of the Baker family and the group’s resident fashion and beauty expert, Duff starred in these films as one of the middle children, Lorraine Baker.
Duff wasn’t the only Disney star to appear in this film. Another member of the Baker clan was the sporty Sarah, portrayed by The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and Camp Rock star, Alyson Stoner.
The ‘Cheaper by the Dozen’ cast recreated iconic moments from the movie for social media
During the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, several casts of iconic television shows have been reuniting, including Disney Channel favorites like Good Luck Charlie. The cast of Cheaper by the Dozen was no exception. In 2020, several cast members teamed up to recreate iconic moments from the comedy.
That includes Duff, who sported a green face mask and her hair pulled back in a bun. The actor shared the video on her Instagram page with the caption, “Surprise! From the Baker family to yours. We are all in this together.”
Hilary Duff is known for her role with Disney Channel
Aside from her Cheaper by the Dozen acting, Duff appeared in several Disney-related projects. That, of course, includes the original comedy series, Lizzie McGuire, and its spinoff, The Lizzie McGuire Movie.
This actor was even set to star in a Disney+ original series, returning to the world of Lizzie and her best friends, Miranda and Gordo, now as adults about to turn 30 years old. Although production began on the show in November 2019, it has since been paused.
“Fans have a sentimental attachment to Lizzie McGuire and high expectations for a new series,” said a Disney spokesperson, according to Variety. “After filming two episodes, we concluded that we need to move in a different creative direction and are putting a new lens on the show.”
Cheaper by the Dozen is now available for streaming on Disney+.
