Hilary Duff Jokes That She ‘Can’t Get Away’ From Her Songs Because Her Daughter Wants to Listen to Them
In the 2000s, Hilary Duff was a teen idol. She rose to fame as the star of Disney Channel’s Lizzie McGuire and even released hit songs such as “So Yesterday” and “Come Clean.”
Nowadays, Duff is a mother, and her kids are getting old enough to enjoy her music. In fact, she revealed that her daughter frequently wants to listen to the songs she recorded.

Duff has three children: Luca (born 2012), Banks (born 2018), and Mae (born 2021).
Luca was born when Duff was in a relationship with her ex-husband, Mike Comrie. Duff and Comrie were together from 2010 to 2015, with their divorce finalized in 2016.
Banks and Mae’s father is Duff’s current husband, Matthew Koma. Duff and Koma began dating in 2017 and got married in 2019.

Banks is turning 4 years old this year and is developing a taste for music. In particular, Duff recently revealed that Banks loves her 2015 album, Breathe In. Breathe Out.
“I can’t get away from it because someone exposed my three-year-old to it,” Duff told Cosmopolitan. “We get in the car, and I have to listen to my own music because my daughter’s screaming, ‘I want ‘parks, I want ‘parks’ [referring to the song ‘Sparks’].”
Duff continued, “I’m rolling up to her preschool, and every time I turn it way down she’s like, ‘Why do you turn it off? Why you turn it off?’ Like, girl. I’m not rolling up to your preschool blasting my own s***. So embarrassing.”
Banks is not the only person who wants to listen to Duff’s music. There are many fans hoping to see more releases from her as well.
Duff told Cosmopolitan about the plans for her music career: “I’m not working on music right now but I have been talking to my husband about getting into the studio and starting to stretch the muscles a little bit. I really want to, but I need time to figure out what I’m saying, what kind of record I’m making, and who it’s for. But, yes, I want to.”

Being a mother is a full-time job, and Duff’s life can get pretty hectic with three young kids. She told People in May 2021, “I’m so in love with all my kids, and I love this mayhem.”
“I love when everyone’s full of energy and the house is buzzing,” she said. “You never know what the day is going to bring or what your kid’s going to say. We’re in the thick of it, and it feels good.”
Duff is also looking at the future of their family. She said, “It took me a week into having Mae to be like, ‘I’m going to have two teenage girls. Holy s***, how am I going to deal with that?’”
