Erin and Ben Napier have starred in the HGTV show Home Town since its premiere back in 2017. The couple design and remodel homes in the small town of Laurel, Mississippi, and fans have grown to love their upbeat attitudes and sweet relationship.

Though Erin and Ben have a design style that remains similar throughout each home, there’s one décor piece the couple have in their own house that fans will never see anywhere else.

HGTV stars Erin and Ben Napier tend to use similar design elements throughout all of their homes

Erin and Ben have built a successful show on their ability to bring unkempt homes back to life. The couple has a specific style, which might be described as quirky southern comfort: They often add pops of bright color to a space while making sure to create a cozy atmosphere that matches the vibe of small-town Laurel.

Erin and Ben love colored cabinets or islands in the kitchen. If a bright color doesn’t work in the space, Erin doesn’t force it, but it adds an element of uniqueness with each redesign. In addition to the kitchen, Erin almost always adds some type of colorful wallpaper into the design, whether it’s floral or a funky pattern.

The ‘Home Town’ stars have one surprising — and unique — décor piece in their own home

Erin has certainly incorporated her own style into her home. The two live in Laurel themselves; they own a charming, nearly 100-year-old house that they’ve put their own Home Town touch on.

However, there is one décor piece in Erin and Ben’s home that fans certainly won’t see the two put in a client’s home: An oil painting featured in The Sopranos. According to the website Life At Cloverhill, which toured Erin and Ben’s home in 2014, Erin is a huge fan of James Gandolfini. She and Ben have an oil painting that was featured as a background piece in season 4 of The Sopranos. Erin and Ben’s home has always been a reflection of themselves, and the painting only adds to that.

The couple also have one outdoor staple they love to include in their redesigns

Home Town typically highlights the inside of a home and its changes, but Erin and Ben almost always do work on the home’s exterior, too. And while they love incorporating pops of color indoors through wallpaper or cabinetry, there is something they often include in home exterior designs, too: A front porch swing.

“I will not rest until every home in Laurel has a front porch swing,” Ben Napier said in a season 5 Home Town episode. Ben even custom built a porch swing for his and Erin’s home, which he posted to Instagram back in 2018. He called it “one of the best pieces I’ve ever designed.”
