For country star Craig Morgan, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s reaction to the heartbreaking death of his son in 2016 was the perfect example of true friendship. In a new interview, Morgan opened up about how Shelton and Stefani responded after hearing about his terrible loss. Not only did their gesture humble him, but it also brought him “to tears.”

Morgan opens up about Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s reaction

Morgan lost his 19-year-old son, Jerry, in a tragic boating accident on Kentucky Lake in 2016. Jerry was riding on an inner tube behind the family’s boat when he was dragged under the surface of the water.

Although the young man was wearing a lifejacket, he failed to resurface. In the heartbreaking days following Jerry’s passing, Morgan found comfort in Shelton, who was there when he needed him the most.

According to Yahoo, Morgan opened up about his friendship with Blake Shelton and his lady love during an interview with Taste of Country. Morgan revealed that Shelton and Stefani flew in for the funeral and did not make any special requests throughout their stay.

“They were gonna walk through the front door with everyone else,” Morgan shared. “They were so humble, they did not want or request anything above and beyond. They were willing to sit wherever, and that just says a lot about their character and their personality.”

The gesture may have been a small one on behalf of Shelton and Stefani, but it clearly meant a lot to Morgan.

Inside Blake Shelton and Craig Morgan’s friendship

Morgan’s friendship with Shelton made headlines earlier this year. A few months ago, Morgan came out with a single, “The Father, My Son and the Holy Ghost,” despite not having a record label to support the release.

The country singer wrote the song to help cope with Jerry’s untimely death, and Shelton was all about supporting his friend. Taking to social media, Shelton told his followers that he is willing to step aside to get Morgan’s song on the radio.

“I would gladly give up my spot on country radio to get this song on… Wow @cmorganmusic you blow me away brother,” Blake Shelton wrote.

Over the course of the next few weeks, Shelton continued to plug Morgan’s song on social media. His efforts helped the track reach the number one spot on the charts.

Morgan even sang the song during a segment of The Kelly Clarkson Show, and Shelton was there to hear the moving performance. Morgan may have gone through a lot dealing with his son’s death, but he definitely had a lot of support along the way.

Fans want to see more of Shelton and Stefani

Aside from Blake Shelton’s friendship with Morgan, the country crooner has been getting a lot of attention from his romance with Gwen Stefani.

The two are currently competing on The Voice, and their flirtatious interactions have been a huge hit with fans.

While fans cannot get enough of the couple on The Voice, they were noticeably absent during the 2019 CMA Awards. After skipping out on the red carpet, Shelton and Stefani were only spotted a few times during the broadcast.

Even worse, Blake Shelton failed to mention his love of over four years in his speech after winning a trophy for the Single of the Year.

Despite the apparent snub, Stefani did not seem to care. When the cameras panned to her, she was clearly super proud of her boyfriend winning the award and did not seem phased when he did not mention her name.

When will Stefani return to ‘The Voice’

Stefani may have earned herself a coach’s chair in season 17 of The Voice but she is not expected to return next year. Stefani is bowing out so that she can wrap up her residency in Las Vegas.

Although Stefani is leaving, Shelton assured fans that she will return to the hit singing competition before too long. Shelton did not say for sure when Stefani will be back, but it sounds like it will happen sooner rather than later.

Blake Shelton noted that he is very sad to see Stefani go, but he also understands that adding new coaches helps the show stay fresh. Just as long as he isn’t the next person leaving, Shelton is completely fine with it.

The country star is the only coach left that has been with the show since the very beginning and he is not showing any signs of stopping.

Fans can watch Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani in action when new episodes of The Voice air Monday and Tuesday nights on NBC.
