Source claims Jennifer Lopez’s kids haven’t met Ben Affleck and his family
When it comes to Lopez’s children, the singer is reportedly taking her new relationship a bit slower. In late May 2021, a source told Us Weekly that Lopez has been hesitant to introduce her twins to Affleck so soon. “Jen is reluctant to spring a new special someone in her life on them right away,” the source said. “So that will be phased in slowly, for sure, but eventually, you can count on her wanting her kids to meet Ben.”
As Lopez’s fans know, she ended a four-year relationship with baseball star Alex Rodriguez in April. During their time together, Lopez’s kids grew close with Rodriguez and his daughters, Natasha and Ella. According to Us Weekly’s source, Lopez’s relationship with Affleck may be hard on her children for that reason.
“[He] really doted on them and was a model stepdad,” the source revealed. “They’ve had to adjust to this new dynamic of him not being around anymore.”
Are Lopez’s and Affleck’s kids close in age?
Lopez’s and Affleck’s children are close in age, which may help them bond when they do meet. Lopez’s twin son and daughter, Maximilian David Muñiz and Emme Maribel Muñiz, with ex-husband Marc Anthony, were born on Feb. 22, 2008. Lopez and Anthony divorced in 2014 after 10 years of marriage, but the two still co-parent Max and Emme and stay in touch as friends. The dancer even sought comfort from Anthony following her split from Rodriguez.
Meanwhile, Affleck shares three children with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner. Their oldest daughter, Violet Affleck, arrived on Dec. 1, 2005. Their second daughter, Seraphina Affleck, was born on Jan. 6, 2009. Finally, Affleck and Garner’s son, Samuel, was born on Feb. 27, 2012.
Lopez and her kids may move to LA
According to TMZ, Lopez was spotted exploring schools in LA in early June 2021, which appeared to be a sign that she wants to move to LA with the twins to be closer to Affleck. However, a source told The Sun that the “On the Floor” singer does not yet plan to move in with Affleck; she is only looking to buy a home near him. The Sun’s source explained that she wants to give her kids a chance to adjust to the relationship before she and Affleck move in together, but a move to LA still makes the most sense to her because “Neither Jen nor Ben do well with distance.”
Right now is a good time to check out schools and buy a house so that they can start with the other kids in their class in September,” the source said. “That’s the plan, to be moved in and settled before the school year begins.”
