How Did Chris Hemsworth Meet His Wife Elsa Pataky?
Chris Hemsworth’s marriage doesn’t get quite the level of attention his brother Liam gets. While the world is well aware that Liam Hemsworth is married to Miley Cyrus, many people likely would have a harder time naming Chris’ wife.
But in fact, Chris Hemsworth has been married far longer than his little brother and has a beautiful family. So just how did the Thor actor and his wife meet and how many kids do they have?
Who is Chris Hemsworth’s wife?
Hemsworth is married to Spanish actress and model Elsa Pataky. Pataky was born Elsa Lafuente Medianu in Madrid, Spain. At a young age, the Spanish beauty developed an interest in acting. She attended Universidad CEU San Pablo where she studied journalism and acting.
After landing a role on Al Salir de Clase, Pataky left school to focus on her acting. She has since appeared in several Fast and Furious films, beginning with Fast 5, and appeared in 12 Strong, a film in which her husband was the star. Most recently, the actress appeared in the television series Tidelands.
Pataky has posed on the cover of several magazines and was named the highest paid model by People with Money in 2017. The actress is also fluent in six different languages including English, Spanish, Romanian, Italian, Portuguese, and French.
How did Chris Hemsworth meet his wife?
The way the couple met is nothing out of the ordinary, but the details surrounding their love make you think this couple was always destined to be with one another. Pataky and Hemsworth met when they were introduced by talent agent William Ward. The two quickly hit it off and began dating.
Three months after they started dating, the couple was vacationing with their family in Indonesia. Something about everyone being there just felt right and the couple decided that they would get married then and there.
Hemsworth later admitted, “Honestly, we had both our families on holiday at the same time, just randomly, and we said, ‘This is a good opportunity with everyone together.’ So, we just did it.”
So what about those details we mentioned earlier? As it turns out, at the age of 15, the future Mrs. Hemsworth got a double x tattoo on her right shoulder inspired by Thor. She told Vogue Australia that she got the tattoo because it looked interesting and she thought it was “so beautiful.”
As we now know, years later Pataky ended up marrying a man who’s most iconic role has been playing the Norse God. The actress has since added on a few new tattoos including the letter C on her ring finger, which Hemsworth etched himself. The actor also has a tattoo on his ring finger, the letter E.
The couple lives in Australia
Perhaps the reason we don’t see much of the couple out and about is that they don’t even live in the United States. Instead, the couple maintains their primary residence in Hemsworth’s home country, Australia. The couple recently renovated a home which they share with their three children, seven-year-old India and five-year-old twins Sasha and Tristan.
Hemsworth recently announced that he will be stepping away from acting for a little bit so that he can spend more time with his family. The actor has several movies scheduled to come out in 2019 and says that he will likely not be filming anything else for the remainder of the year.
It is not clear when the actor plans to take on more work, but for now, he says, “I just want to be at home now with my kids.”
