Kim Kardashian West has been a target of Jamil’s criticism many times. Recently, Jamil also made some scathing comments about an outfit Kardashian West wore and encouraged fans to stop following the reality TV star. But how exactly does Kardashian West feel about Jamil’s criticism?
What did Jameela Jamil say about Kim Kardashian West?
On June 24, Kardashian West took to Instagram to share a throwback video from last year. In the video, Kardashian West stood in front of a mirror wearing a corset as she prepared for the 2019 Met Gala. The corset was meant to show off how tiny Kardashian West’s waist was.
In response, Jamil shared a screenshot from the video and posted it on to her own Instagram account. Jamil also wrote a lengthy message to her followers in the caption.
“Kim, like many of us, has had decades of body image issues and obsession,” Jamil said. “This has been HEAVILY perpetuated by how much the media scrutinized her and her sisters over their appearances. She isn’t actively trying to harm you. She’s just so harmed and deluded into thinking this is what SHE needs to look like to be special and beautiful and she’s spilling it out onto her following.”
Jamil also added, “Is this wrong? YES. But I’m not sure she realizes that she’s doing to others what her idols did to her, in making her think a tiny waist is the key to femininity and sex appeal.”
Jamil ended her message with a statement urging her followers assess whether they would like to continue consuming Kardashian West’s brand of beauty for not.
“Unfollow the people who tell you things that hurt your self esteem,” Jamil said. “Don’t let the debris of their damage spill out onto you. Unfollow people/brands that don’t make you feel powerful and happy and grateful for what you have.”
How does Kardashian West feel about Jamil’s comments?
Kardashian West has not responded to Jamil’s comments, but a source allegedly told Hollywood Life that the beauty mogul “doesn’t care what Jameela thinks.”
“Kim is all about empowering women and making them feel good, and that includes herself,” the insider noted. “Kim has insecurities like every other woman, and if she wears a corset and looks and feels good, she doesn’t see anything wrong with it. She wears corsets and waist trainers often — as do her sisters — to show off their small waists they work hard for.”
Jamil will most likely continue to criticize Kardashian West and her family
While it seems like Kardashian West will just let Jamil’s comments roll of her shoulder, it does not mean Jamil will stop her criticism anytime soon.
Jamil has actually been a vocal critic of Kardashian West and her family. She often calls them out for promoting potentially-dangerous diet teas and perpetuating a toxic culture that tells women they are not good enough.
As such, so long as the Kardashian-Jenners continue to be social media influencers, it looks like Jamil will continue to criticize them.
