Duke Nicholson, age 20, is one of legendary actor Jack Nicholson’s grandchildren. He told the Hollywood Reporter that he spent Thanksgiving with his grandfather in the Hollywood Hills this year.
“It’s usually pretty small,” Duke Nicholson said about the holiday gathering. “Me, my Uncle Ray, my Aunt Lorraine, my mom.” However, this year, he got to see Jack Nicholson. The publication inquired after the Departed actor’s health, especially considering his public appearances have dropped off in recent months.
“He’s doing great,” Duke Nicholson confirmed. “He’s 100 percent.” A relief for all fans of The Shining.

Duke Nicholson’s grandmother is a woman named Sandra Knight, who used to be an actress. Jack Nicholson met her on the set of the film The Terror, and they got married in 1962. The couple stayed together for six years.
Duke Nicholson’s mom is a 56-year-old fashion designer named Jennifer Nicholson, and his dad is Mark Norfellet, a 54-year-old retired surfer.

However, don’t blame nepotism just yet: Peele cast the young actor without knowing about his family’s connections.
This made it all the spookier when Peele told the young Nicholson on the set of Us to “channel the bartender” from The Shining: a.k.a. his grandfather’s iconic role from his own most famous film.
“Jordan was like, ‘Have you seen The Shining? You’re my Lloyd,'” Duke Nicholson recounted to the Hollywood Reporter. However, Peele maintains that Nicholson got the role on his own merit.
“Duke Nicholson is the carny,” Peele confirmed. “He’s always been the carny.” Duke Nicholson shrugged it off as coincidence: “I mean, The Shining is one of the greatest horror films of all time …”
Jack Nicholson’s are tough acting shoes to fill, but his grandson seems to be giving it a good shot.
