How Is Kourtney Kardashian Different From Kim and the Other Sisters?
When it comes to fame and fortune, few families have been able to exploit “The American Dream” better than the Kardashian-Jenner clan. Whether you are one of their bazillion followers or you can barely tell them apart, they are set in our culture and likely here to stay.
There is at least one Kardashian who has consistently shown she is different than her siblings: Kourtney Kardashian. She is the first of them all. She had the longest time out of the spotlight, which might explain some of the ways she is different.
How the Kardashian sisters got their start in show business
Depending on who you ask, they either got their start from the infamous OJ trial or a sex tape. Back in the day, Robert Kardashian — father of the Kardashian sisters — gained notoriety for being a part of OJ Simpsons legal counsel. It was a really big deal at the time and even gained attention for his wife Kris and their young children.
On the other, Kim Kardashian did make a sex tape with then-boyfriend Ray-J. The tape was released with or without her permission causing the media and the public to follow her and her family. While she denies being the one to release the tape, she did end up selling the rights, instead of suing, so you can form your own opinions on the matter.
How this family became famous is probably not important, because it was bound to happen one way or another. See, that’s the thing about this family. The women might be privileged and oversaturated, but they are also very driven. In an old video, Kim even predicted her future fame. Where does that leave Kourtney, the black sheep of the family?
How Kourtney Kardashian is similar to her family
When it comes to similarities, some are very obvious. Take her looks, for example; she has the trademark complexion, bone structure, and all-around beauty as the rest of them. Even now, in her 40s, you have to question the gene pool.
Other similarities she shares with the other women in her family is her strength. She is not afraid to speak up. Even though she does not like being the center of attention, she can still get loud, especially if she thinks one of her sisters needs a smackdown.
Kourtney is also very driven. They all are, and that’s probably in their genes too. As if they are not rich enough, if they could bottle their drive, this world would look very different. Although she shares many things in common, she is one Kardashian that is still very different from Kim and the other sisters.
How is Kourtney Kardashian different from Kim and the other sisters?
Take, for example, the episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashian’s when Kim lost an earring that was worth more than both of my cars. Kim was crying on her mom’s shoulder. When Kourtney found out about the incident, she flatly said: “Kim, there’s people that are dying.”
This is the way she seemed to feel about much of her family’s exposure. She will be the first to admit that her success is at least in some part due to the reality show, but she also wishes sometimes that it would all just go away.
When asked by Paper, “If the cameras switched off tomorrow, would she be okay with it?” She said without hesitation: “I would be very happy.”
On top of seemingly having a good head on her shoulders, and being less self-involved, Kourtney is different because deep down inside, she does not want to be this famous. She just wants to work on Poosh and play with her kids.
