How Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel Went All Out for Their Son’s Quarantine Birthday Party
Stay-at-home orders didn’t stop Justin Timberlake from promoting his new movie, Trolls World Tour. The voice actor appeared via Zoom with his co-star Anna Kendrick on The Kelly Clarkson Show for an interview. Timberlake and his wife Jessica Biel are staying home with their son, Silas, who just celebrated his fifth birthday.
Timberlake and Biel have been an item for 12 years and married for seven of those. Timberlake shared with Clarkson how he and Biel are keeping Silas busy in self-isolation, and how they made his birthday special when they couldn’t have a party with all his friends. Trolls World Tour is now available on digital VOD services.
Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel are helping Silas with remote schooling
Celebrity parents have the same responsibilities as all the parents of children whose classrooms were closed due to stay-at-home orders. Timberlake said they even had a home schooling class the morning before his interview with Clarkson.
“Funny enough, we’ve done a lot of baking,” Timberlake said. “We had my son’s computer class this morning was baking and we made some banana chocolate chip muffins. They are all gone now.”
Justin Timberlake is glad Silas is still so young
Social media is full of heartbreaking stories about kids who had to miss out on birthday parties because social distancing prohibited gatherings. There are also examples of families finding clever alternatives to make sure their children have some kind of celebration. Timberlake has empathy for older children and their parents going through this time.
“I gotta say I’m lucky,” Timberlake said. “I feel lucky that he’s still so young. All the parents out there, shout out to all the parents right now who have spring birthdays and your children are turning some adolescent age and you have to figure out something very important to do because those are important birthdays. We all remember those. At least my son has only turned five.”
The ‘Trolls World Tour’ voice appropriated some swag for birthday gifts
It’s good to be a Troll. Fortunately, kids movies come with a lot of toys for kids to play with after the movie. Timberlake said he made some of those Silas’s birthday presents.
“I have no shame in my game saying we optioned some free Trolls merch,” Timberlake said. “There’s Legos. It’s hard out here for a parent. Just cake.”
Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel went all out for Silas’s birthday
Timberlake buried the lede though. His big gift to Silas was a staple of children’s birthday parties. Most families can only afford to rent a bounce house, and right now it would not be safe to use a communal bounce house that’s passed between many birthday parties. So Timberlake and Biel bought their own.
“We actually went a little all out,” Timberlake said. “We bought him his own bouncy house.”
They still made sure to completely disinfect their new bounce house.
“I Lysoled that thing down, I’m not going to lie to you,” Timberlake said. “Then I jumped until I couldn’t jump anymore with him.”
