How Long Have Emily Blunt and John Krasinski Been Married?
Emily Blunt and John Krasinski are #relationshipgoals. Blunt is a stunning British actress who first wowed us in The Devil Wears Prada and has been in everything from Mary Poppins Returns to the chilling thriller, The Girl on the Train. Krasinski, on the other hand, is the ideal all American guy who stole all of our hearts as Jim Halpert on the iconic NBC sitcom, The Office. He then went on to scare the crap out of all of us with his directorial debut, A Quiet Place before getting ridiculously buff for the Amazon series, Jack Ryan.
While many stars in Hollywood seem to have messy romances and short-lived marriages, Blunt and Krasinski have proven time and time again that you can find real and timeless love while still having a stellar A-list career. Let’s take a look at the power couple’s beautiful romance.
Emily Blunt and John Krasinski met in 2008
Though the A Quiet Place stars didn’t meet until 2008, Krasinski fell in love with his wife after seeing her in 2006’s The Devil Wears Prada where she starred opposite Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. When they finally meet in November 2008 and began dating, the actor/director was head over heels immediately. He told The Daily Beast, “The best days of my life started when I met my wife — that’s the truth. She’s one of the coolest people, she’s so talented, she’s beautiful, and she’s certainly out of my league.”
Blunt felt the same about her hunky husband whom she calls Kras. She once even described him as “the perfect man.” She told Entertainment Tonight, “He is my perfect man. He is funny and warm and bright and confident and a sort of emboldening person to be around.”
Less than a year after they began dating — Krasinski asked Blunt to marry him. The two wed July 10, 2010, is a romantic ceremony in Como, Italy.
They can’t agree on who made the first move
When the pair first met in 2008, they happened to be at the same restaurant. Krasinski was with his actor buddy, Justin Theroux. During a joint interview for The Hollywood Reporter’s Rulebreakers issue, Blunt says she remembers making the first move. She said, ” Probably me, I think, I think it was me.” Krasinski steadfastly disagrees with his wife’s interpretation. He said, “No. It was me asking for a while, and you took some time, and then we finally had a date.”
The couple wasn’t too keen on giving too many details about their magical first date, but we do know they had a pizza date that ended at Kransinski’s West Hollywood apartment.
Family over everything
Blunt and Krasinski have two children together, Hazel, born in 2014, and Violet, born in 2016 and their girls matter more than anything else. In fact, Blunt usually takes at least five months off in between projects, a rule she broke just once when she signed on to star opposite her husband in his film A Quiet Place after wrapping Mary Poppins. Blunt talked to People about her greatest wish for her girls saying, “My greatest hope is that they are truly happy, and that they’re interested in life. Interested and interesting, and truly happy.”
