How Many Episodes Is ‘Superman & Lois’ Season 1?
Superman & Lois is one of the most exciting new shows on The CW. And with the show taking another brief break, many are wondering how many episodes are left in the season.
Season 1 premiered in early 2021
The series premiere of Superman & Lois aired on Feb. 23. After that, new episodes dropped every Tuesday on The CW until the fifth episode, “The Beacon,” aired on March 23.
Due to pandemic-related delays in production, the show then took a two-month hiatus and returned with episode 6, “Broken Trust,” on May 18. The CW has been dropping weekly episodes ever since.
But after the June 22 installment, the series is taking another hiatus. Episode 12, “Through The Valley Of Death,” is scheduled to air Tuesday, July 13.
How many episodes is ‘Superman & Lois’ season 1?
Season 1 of Superman & Lois will air with a total of 15 episodes. It was initially meant to be a 13-episode season. But earlier this year, The CW announced they’d ordered an extra two, bringing it to an even 15.
“As The CW’s 2020-2021 season kicks into high gear, we are thrilled creatively with the direction of our first new shows out of the gate, Walker and Superman & Lois, that we wanted to order the additional episodes to complete their first seasons,” Mark Pedowitz, Chairman and CEO, The CW Network said in a press release.
If The CW continues to air episodes weekly, without any breaks, the season 1 finale should air on Tuesday, Aug. 3.
Will there be a ‘Superman & Lois’ season 2?
With a handful of episodes left, fans may be anxious to know if the series will be back for a second season. Luckily, in March 2021, The CW renewed the superhero show for season 2.
“The phenomenal multiplatform debut of Superman & Lois, which delivered for us in a big way on both a linear and streaming basis, is a testament to the creativity, hard work, and dedication of the talented people who worked tirelessly in front of and behind the camera, especially in this challenging environment,” Pedowitz said in a statement.
“We are thrilled to now have two brand-new bonafide hits in Superman & Lois and Walker,” he added. “Both of which have been renewed for next season along with 11 other of our shows, further positioning us for continued strength and stability for next season.”
What is the ‘Superman & Lois’ season 2 release date?
As of now, The CW has not confirmed an official premiere date for season 2 of Superman & Lois. And the series was not listed as part of the network’s fall lineup.
If the show follows a similar schedule to season 1, the second season should drop in early 2022. Fans will likely know more in the months to come or after production on the new season begins.
