Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks have two sons together: Chester “Chet” Hanks and Truman Hanks. Chet Hanks was born on August 4, 1990. The eldest son of Rita and Tom may be young, be he has already made major headlines in his 28 years of life. He is a rapper, who has come out with many songs, including The Thirst and Do it Better.
In addition to his solo music career, Chet is also one half of FTRZ, which is a hip-hop group that he started with his friend Drew Arthur. Chet not only raps, but he has also followed in his parents’ acting footsteps as well. He has had small roles in some of Hollywood’s biggest movies, such as Fantastic Four, Project X, and Larry Crowne. Most recently, he has had a recurring role on the hit TV Empire.
While Chet now seems to have a bright future ahead, he admitted that there was a time when his future didn’t look so good. In 2015, Chet had checked himself into rehab while battling a cocaine addiction. However, he is now clean and sober and he thanks his young daughter for helping him realize that he needed to get help with his addiction.
Truman Theodore Hanks is the youngest of the Hanks children. He was born on December 26, 1995. As of right now, he does not seem to be too interested in following in his famous family member’s footsteps by appearing on the big screen. However, he does seem to still have the creative gene that was passed down from his parents.
It has been reported that while Truman was still attending high school, he has an internship with Activision where he was able to design a special-edition Skylander figurine.

Before Hanks married Rita Wilson, he was married to a woman named Samantha Lewes. The two were married in 1978 and stayed married for nine years. Before divorcing in 1987, the couple had two children: a son, named Colin and a daughter named Elizabeth Ann.
Not only does Colin Hanks look like his dad, but he also seemed to inherit his dad’s impeccable acting skills. In 1999, he had a prominent role in the TV series Roswell. He has even spent some time on the big screen when he appeared in several different movies like King Kong, The Good Guys, and The Great Buck Howard.
Elizabeth Ann Hanks leads a much quieter life than her brothers. She used to be the Associate Editor for the Huffington Post. She now works as a children’s book editor for the Los Angeles Review of Books. Although Elizabeth didn’t grow up and become an actress, she has spent some time on the big screen. In the movie Forrest Gump, When young Forest is getting on the school bus for the first time, he is met with most of the kids telling him “the seat’s taken.” One little girl on the bus doesn’t say anything to Forrest, she just looks at him and shakes her head.
