The sons of Tito Jackson have announced that their father, who was a member of the group the Jackson 5, has died. An official cause of death has not yet been released but it’s believed he suffered a heart attack while driving from New Mexico to Oklahoma. Tito was 70.

His children Taj, Taryll, and TJ shared the sad news via an emotional post on Instagram, writing: “It’s with heavy hearts that we announce that our beloved father, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Tito Jackson is no longer with us. We are shocked, saddened and heartbroken.

“Our father was an incredible man who cared about everyone and their well-being. Some of you may know him as Tito Jackson from the legendary Jackson 5, some may know him as ‘Coach Tito’ or some know him as ‘Poppa T.’ Nevertheless, he will be missed tremendously. It will forever be ‘Tito Time’ for us. Please remember to do what our father always preached and that is ‘Love One Another.’ We love you Pops.”

The Jackson 5, later The Jacksons, was such an iconic group made up of Tito and some of his siblings who went on to become household names. Now, some have questions about which members are still alive today. Here’s the answer to that and what the surviving members are up to now.

And of course the most famous member of the family, Michael Jackson, is the only other sibling besides Tito who has died.

Michael’s death occurred on June 25, 2009, when he was 50 years old.

His death was ruled a homicide as there was a combination of drugs in his system and he had been administered propofol by his physician just before his death. In 2011, that physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and served two years in prison.
