How Many Times Has ‘Younger’ Actress Sutton Foster Been Married and Does She Have Any Children?
Sutton Foster stars on the TV land hit show Younger. On the series she plays Liza Miller, a 40-something woman who pretends to be in her 20s in order to get a job in publishing. While there has been so much focus on her age, fans of the show also have other questions about her including how many times she been married and if she has any children.
Here’s what we know about Foster’s husbands and kids, plus what her net worth is.
Who is Sutton Foster’s husband?
Foster has been married twice.
She and her first husband, Smash actor Christian Borle, who she met in college, tied the knot in 2006. However, they ended up divorcing four years later. Although their marriage didn’t last, their friendship did.
In fact, the two worked together on Younger in 2018.
“Don is a struggling freelance writer,” Foster said about her ex’s character. “They have a spark. It was really fun to work with Christian again.”
Foster and Borle also co-starred in Broadway’s Thoroughly Modern Millie and in Netflix’s Gilmore Girls revival.
In 2013, Foster got engaged to screenwriter, Ted Griffin. The pair said “I do” on Oct. 25, 2014, and have been married ever since.
How many children do they have?
In 2017, the two-time Tony Award winner and Griffin adopted their daughter, Emily Dale.
Foster previously opened up to People about their choice to adopt after her fertility struggles.
“There was something about being with Ted that made me want kids. I didn’t really understand the concept of motherhood until he came around,” the actress admitted.
She added that they “started so late” and when they didn’t succeed it was frustrating.
“I was so angry that it was so hard,” she remembered. “I’m so used to being the type of person where if I want to make something happen, I make it happen. It was really frustrating. And we were racing against the clock.”
The couple turned to in vitro fertilization but when that didn’t work they began exploring the adoption process.
“Where IVF was full of disappointment and heartbreak, adoption was so clearly what was meant to be for us,” Foster said.
What is Foster’s net worth?
Sutton is not only a talented actress but she’s also a singer and dancer and has worked on Broadway plays for a number of years. Today, she has an estimated net worth of $4 million and when it comes to her Younger salary, she makes more than her male co-stars.
“The women on this show are paid more than the men are and I think that’s a step in the right direction,” Nico Tortorella, who plays Liza’s on-again-off-again love interest on the show, told TooFab in an interview. “I think that we represent a piece of the future that I want to live in.”
