Erika Girardi from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills made jaws drop when she revealed how much it costs to get her looking so fabulous.

The performer, whose stage name is Erika Jayne, is often seen on the show traveling with her glam squad, plus her choreographer and an entourage of hair and makeup artists.

Fans pondered what it cost to keep the Bravo cast member looking so glamorous. Especially considering her signature song, “XXpen$ive to be me,” pretty much said it all. So what does it take to be Girardi?

She revealed her hair and makeup routine

Girardi spends a decent amount of time on hair and makeup. She told The Cut it could take an entire day to remove her hair extensions. “Listen, this is a lifestyle,” she explained. “I don’t recommend it to anyone, it’s just what I do and it’s a lot. It’s a lot of upkeep. It’s a lot of time. It’s a lot of money. I highlight, process, Brazilian, install … I sit down for a whole day once every eight weeks and take all my extensions out and redo them. It’s a lot. You wanna look good? Shit costs money and takes time. It just does.”

She said it can take about an hour to do her hair too. “We wash it, blow-dry it, and style it.” Plus she loves her wigs. As far as makeup goes, she leaves that to the professionals.  “I can do the basics, but I can’t paint. Rea’s the real makeup artist,” she said referring to the makeup artist interviewed for the story. “When I do my makeup, it doesn’t look professional. My mother was a makeup artist for Estée Lauder and she taught me.”

This is how much money she usually spends each month on glam

Girardi set the record straight last spring about how much money she spends on her look. She confirmed that, indeed, she spends $40,000 a month on hair, makeup, clothing and more, People reports. “If you want to look good it’s hair, it’s makeup, it’s wardrobe, and then those people that help facilitate that,” she remarked. “They’re not cheap,”

She admitted she also partakes in a number of luxuries during an episode of Watch What Happens Live. She copped to botox and fillers. Plus, she also has a personal trainer four days a week and a hair and makeup artist six or seven days a week. She also said she was wearing more than $1,000 worth of clothing during her clubhouse appearance.

Girardi’s makeup artist dishes on her look

Her makeup artist, Kristofer Buckle told E News what it takes to get Girardi looking so fabulous. “Erika Jayne puts the pedal to the floor. She understands the importance of an image. She’s a beautiful woman and she really has a beautiful face and beautiful skin. But even beautiful women know they can be more beautiful with makeup in a strategic and intelligent way. We make it shine; we make it sparkle even more,”

Bottom line, embrace the glam, Buckle says. “With Erika, I do play up her eyebrows a lot because her eyes are so gorgeous. She has wide-set eyes so I want to balance that with placement so it brings things in a little more. She has a lot of real estate on her cheeks so I make sure to bring her eyes down; I make her eyes really big and, of course, lashes. She’s not afraid of the glam.”
